Tammy has had several health crises, including a COVID-19 pandemic two-week hospitalization after she contracted the virus, and it caused her to need constant oxygen afterwards.
Tammy has also struggled with her mental health, and she made things worse by taking up drinking, partying, and vaping, which ultimately led her to have another health crisis, which then led her to be on life support. Tammy has had carbon dioxide poisoning, pneumonia, and sepsis, leading her to be on life support in the past. However, Tammy has lost over 500 lbs since her bariatric surgery, and in 1000-lb Sisters season 7, Tammy was approved for skin removal surgery after she successfully quit vaping and reached her doctor’s goal weight.
During the surgery, the doctors removed 15 pounds of excess skin from Tammy’s face, neck, arms, and lower stomach. Tammy needs to have more skin removal surgeries, especially for her legs, so her mobility can continue to improve. The surgeries will happen in the future, but there is no word on when exactly that will happen. In any case, Tammy has physically transformed, and her mental health has greatly improved.

However, after her skin removal, Tammy has become a model. She starred ina commercial for Hanson Boom Fireworks Show, in which she shopped for fireworks. With her new job prospects as a model, Tammy could be hired for other brands and promotions.

Tammy has a tumultuous relationship history. In the early seasons, Tammy was dating Jerry Sykes, whom she met on an online BBW dating site. Jerry, 57, was much older than Tammy, and did not support her mission to lose weight. He was called a feeder by Tammy’s family, and he was allegedly still married when they were involved, and he had a lot of kids.
After Tammy and Jerry finally broke up, she moved on to a man named the BBW King, who lived in Las Vegas, and would not date women under 300 lbs. The BBW King did not appear in 1000-lb Sisters, but Tammy did relay that she had to get a restraining order against him after she tried to break up with him, and he allegedly made threats. Tammy moved on from the BBW sites after that.
Tammy met Caleb Willingham in her weight-loss rehab, and the two quickly fell in love and got married.
Sadly, Caleb died in June 2023 due to complications from his obesity, leaving Tammy heartbroken.
After healing from the loss of her husband, Tammy, who has said she’s pansexual since season 1, started dating a woman named Andrea Dalton. Andrea appeared in season 7, and the two are still together. Andrea does have a criminal past, and there were suspect notions about her relationship status, as she was wearing a wedding ring during one of her and Tammy’s dates.
