Even if it doesn’t offer the same vehicle variety as the other maps of Battlefield 6, Siege of Cairo has one of the most addictive combat loops thanks to its gameplay design. With plenty of sightlines for vehicles and Recons, alongside cover and alternative routes for the Support and Assault, every class can thrive on this Battlefield map.
Although it’s easy to have one team dominate a round or turn the middle section of the map into a no-man’s land, there are still plenty of options for counter strategies. With the right daggers and a few trustworthy allies, you can pull a victory from the jaws of defeat by using your class to its maximum potential.
Best Liberation Peak Strategies For The Assault Class
Aside from dragging your fallen teammates behind cover with the new pull and revive mechanic, the Assault class is one of the strongest options for Siege of Cairo’s tight alleyways. In addition to an incredibly powerful Shotgun secondary, the Assault class has plenty of options for using the destructible city buildings to your advantage.
While there aren’t as many options to use the Assault Ladder without getting spotted, it can still be a great way to sneak up behind the higher floors of a fortified building to catch a group of campers off guard, especially the flat rugstore rooftop at C. Meanwhile, the Breaching Path and Explosive Grenade Launchers are also powerful assets that can easily decimate any cover standing between you and your opponents.
Given that the Adrenaline Injector gives you buffs after using it rather than healing you, it’s better to activate one before going into a firefight or attempting to flank an objective.
In terms of actually getting around the map itself, each objective has an abundance of side entrances that are often underused compared to their more central pathways. The map above highlights some of the best side entrances, allowing you to sneak around or get the jump on your opponents from behind fairly easily.
I would also highly recommend equipping a suppressor for your primary weapons while playing the Assault class on Siege of Cairo, as a single enemy could potentially give your flanking position away to countless others waiting just around the corner.
Best Liberation Peak Strategies For The Engineer Class
Unlike some of the larger maps in Battlefield 6, the Engineer class thrives in the close urban environments that make up the Siege of Cairo experience. With plenty of cover to dash behind after firing off a rocket at a tank or tight corridors that your SMG can dominate in, the Engineer is an often underrated choice for these kinds of maps in general.
Since there won’t be any aerial enemies to worry about, you can shift your focus entirely to ground vehicles with rocket mines and rocket launchers, placing the former along common pathways between major objectives. Given how dangerous it can be to go deeper into enemy territory alone, I’d recommend placing your mines closer towards the end of a crossroads or any turning point of a large pathway.
If you place a mine at one of the locations where a tank driver will immediately come into contact with enemies, they’re much less likely to be paying attention to the road, so long as they don’t have a passive detection upgrade equipped. It’s also much safer to place a mine here without risk of injury.
Best Liberation Peak Strategies For The Support Class
Given that you’ll likely be constantly on the move between fallen teammates to revive them as Support, there aren’t too many places where you’ll be spending a majority of your time. Despite this mobile playstyle, there are still plenty of locations that can offer powerful defensive fortifications, especially if you have the right tools for the job.
With LMGs having such a large ammo capacity, you’re better off attempting to hold chokepoints while capturing or defending objectives. Some of the more common firefights or potential flanking routes from enemies are shown in the image above.
With how densely packed and chaotic certain pathways in Siege of Cairo can often be, the Deployable Cover is an excellent tool to provide a little extra defense when you need it. This can be especially handy in both reviving allies or setting up a perfect spot to lay down fire from a destroyed building.
You don’t need to fully charge the defibrillators to revive an ally, as it only increases the amount of HP they spawn with upon getting back up.
On top of the deployable shield, the Grenade Intercept System can also save your squad from getting wiped in a pinch. Another great tool is your built-in Supply Bag, which can both keep teammates stocked up and provide a speedy way to rank up faster.
Best Liberation Peak Strategies For The Recon Class
Even if the cramped city streets can make Recon a difficult class to actually capture objectives with on your own, that doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to aid your team from a distance. You can adjust your Recon playstyle with a DMR or other closer-ranged weapon, but there are also several buildings scattered across the map perfect for taking out enemies during crucial moments of a fight.
Aside from the center strip around C having plenty of medium-range buildings that offer varying levels of decent cover, you’re better off trying to set up in one of the standalone buildings at the edge of each crossroad. While they aren’t as numerous, these buildings usually have a wider field of view due to their numerous windows, with even more cover when you inevitably draw the enemy team’s attention.
The rainbow glint around a Sniper Scope is an easy way to tell if an enemy Recon has you in the sights of their next attack.
In terms of tools, the Recon’s built-in Motion Sensor is an absolute blessing on cramped maps like this, allowing you to keep an eye on the first floor of a building or track the movement of enemies in essential chokepoints between objectives. It’s especially effective when combined with the Anti-Personnel Mine to keep any staircases or hallways safe while sniping.
While you won’t be able to take down vehicles with the C-4 Demolition Charge until at least Rank 20 in Battlefield 6, it’s a fantastic tool to have for instantly taking down any pesky tank players smart enough to quickly back away if they start getting attacked by rockets.
