All the details about Genshin Impact 6.2 have been officially revealed by developer HoYoverse, including the update’s release date, its two new playable characters, events, and the story teaser – without spoilers, as the developer wants players to experience the campaign and uncover revelations on their own. Everything was revealed during the Genshin Impact 6.2 livestream, though a lot of the information had already been leaked because of the beta tests.

This includes details about the gameplay kits for the two new playable units who are arriving in the patch, which was confirmed by HoYoverse’s presentation. Additionally, the developer showcased the previously leaked Genshin Impact 6.2 character banners, giving players an understanding of which characters will rerun and during which periods. The company also highlighted the buffs applied to older characters in the game, like Venti and Mona.

The Update Is Arriving On Schedule

As seen following the presentation, it has been confirmed that Version 6.2 will be released on December 3. This shows that the patch has not suffered any internal delays, and it arrives precisely six weeks after the release of Version 6.1, as per usual. With the update’s announcement, it’s highly unlikely that it will be postponed.

Usually, when HoYoverse has issues and plans on delaying an update’s arrival, it delays the announcement of the livestream itself, which did not happen. This hasn’t happened in years, as the developer has held a steady release schedule. With a definitive release date having been announced, you can rest assured that Genshin Impact 6.2 arrives on December 3.

Genshin Impact 6.2 – Livestream Codes

Claim Up To 300 Free Primogems

During the special showcase, HoYoverse presented the Genshin Impact 6.2 livestream codes, which can be redeemed for a plethora of in-game rewards. This includes Character EXP Materials, Mora, and, most importantly, free Primogems. In total, three codes were presented, and, with them, you can claim up to 300 free Primogems.

It’s worth noting that these livestream codes are limited and must be redeemed before they expire on November 23 at 11 pm ET. You can redeem the livestream codes through the in-game Account section of the settings menu, or through the official Genshin Impact website after you have logged in with your account.

Genshin Impact 6.2 – New Characters & Banners

Durin & Jahoda Debut In The New Update

One of the highlights in Version 6.2 is the new playable character, Durin. As was previously leaked and has now been confirmed, Durin is a 5-star Pyro sword user whose main role is that of an off-field sub-DPS. Durin’s kit in Genshin Impact allows you to trigger two different instances of off-field Pyro DMG, somewhat like Mavuika or the Pyro Traveler, and this affects how his Pyro application interacts with other elements.

Durin is part of the Hexerei faction, those affiliated with the Hexenzirkel in Genshin Impact. As such, he’ll have exclusive bonuses when paired with characters from the faction, in a similar way that some characters get bonuses from other units that hail from the same region. Version 6.2 represents the introduction of the Hexerei faction, as this was not present in the game before.

Durin is not the only character within the Hexerei faction, as HoYoverse has made several old characters part of the group. The other Hexerei characters are Venti, Albedo, Mona, Klee, Fischl, Razor, and Sucrose. With their introduction to the faction, the developer has also added buffs to their kits, making them more up-to-date with the current meta and compatible with Durin. The majority of the buffs are applied to their passive Talents and Constellations, though there are several buffs to Venti in Genshin Impact 6.2.

In fact, Venti will even get a new signature 5-star weapon in the banners, which will help tailor him into the role of a main DPS in team comps. Venti’s new weapon in Genshin Impact 6.2 will augment his offensive powers while on the field, giving you a new way of using him in combat.

Durin is not the only new character in Version 6.2, as HoYoverse is also releasing the 4-star Anemo bow user, Jahoda. She will operate as a mix between a sub-DPS and a support unit for the team. Jahoda in Genshin Impact is capable of helping with damage output while simultaneously healing allies and even providing an Elemental Mastery buff.

According to HoYoverse, Durin will debut in Phase 1 banners alongside a Venti rerun. These banners will run from December 3 through December 17. Meanwhile, Phase 2 banners will be composed of Xilonen and Varesa reruns and will run between December 17 and January 6, when the maintenance for Version 6.3 begins.

The Nod-Krai Story Arc Is Raising The Stakes

The Version 6.2 update will also bring forth brand-new main story quests set in Nod-Krai, as the game continues to get more serious, even after the events that took place in the campaign quests of Version 6.1. HoYoverse did not show too much, so as to avoid spoilers, but did highlight the Hexenzirkel reuniting in Nod-Krai, and the aid to Columbina in a festival in Nod-Krai, Moon-Prayer Night, as they celebrate her departure from the region. Even Alice and Nicole appear for the very first time.

Additionally, HoYoverse detailed all the events that will take place during the patch. There will be several activities to complete, featuring a series of rewards that range from Primogems and materials to a free event weapon in Genshin Impact 6.2.

Narratively speaking, the stakes are high in the campaign, and there will be a lot to uncover as the Nod-Krai story arc pushes forward. Beyond it, you’ll also be bombarded with optional activities that will help increase your chances of getting a desired 5-star character and materials in Genshin Impact 6.2.
