The new teaser trailer for School Spirits season 3 reveals Simon’s fate and the release date. The debut of the Paramount+ supernatural teen drama concluded with the surprise twist that Maddie Nears (Peyton List) never actually died. Instead, in the season 1 cliffhanger, her body was possessed by a girl named Janet.
The ending of School Spirits season 2 was equally surprising, concluding with the tease that Simon (Kristian Ventura) may actually be dead. There were other teases as well, pointing to the fact that the ghosts were being experimented on. And as for Maddie, she’s left dealing with the fact that Wally (Milo Manheim) could be ready to cross over.
During the Paramount+ CCXP panel with ScreenRant‘s Jordan Williams in attendance, it was announced that School Spirits season 3 will premiere on January 28 on Paramount+. The show’s first two seasons are likewise available to stream in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Japan.
The panel, which featured lead star and producer Peyton List, also revealed the teaser trailer for School Spirits season 3. In it, Maddie is seen falling into a black void and calling out for her fellow ghosts with increasing panic. The teaser briefly highlights Simon as well, confirming that he is still part of the series, though he is still stuck in the afterlife after making his sacrifice for Maddie. The upcoming season will plunge Maddie and her friends deeper into a dark mystery, with the veil separating the worlds growing dangerously thin and changing what everyone thought they knew. What that means for Maddie is that, after fighting her way back to life, she’ll face terrifying visions and carry the weight of protecting both the living and the dead.
As for Simon, who is trapped in the afterlife, he becomes obsessed with the secrets in Split River High’s scars. Those unanswered School Spirits questions include the crucial mystery of why so many people died at Split River High in the first place, in addition to Mr. Martin’s warnings.

Returning guest stars, meanwhile, include Maria Dizzia, Patrick Gilmore, Alex Zahara, Ian Tracey, Jess Gabor, and Zack Calderon.
They’ll be joined by new School Spirits cast members Jennifer Tilly, Ari Dalbert, and Erika Swayze, setting up an eventful run for the popular teen mystery that hails from Paramount Television Studios, with Nate Trinrud & Megan Trinrud, serving as co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Oliver Goldstick. It went into its second installment as the most popular teen show on Paramount+, and it looks poised to keep that momentum.
