Jeff Garcia, Voice Of Sheen Estevez In Jimmy Neutron, Dies At 50

Jeff Garcia, a beloved Jimmy Neutron and Nickelodeon star, has passed away at the age of 50. Garcia voiced Jimmy’s close friend, Sheen Estevez, in the 2001 movie Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and reprised the part in numerous other projects as well.

On Instagram, Garcia’s son, Joseph, announced his father’s death. Multiple family members also confirmed to TMZ that Garcia died in the early morning hours of December 10 after being taken off of life support at a Southern California hospital during Tuesday evening.

Garcia was born on May 3, 1975 in La Puente, California. In 1991, he launched his career as a stand-up comedian while performing at a wide range of comedy clubs, including the Laugh Factory.

His first acting credit was in a 1995 episode of the Lea Thompson-led NBC sitcom Caroline in the City. His breakout role came with his voice performance of Sheen in 2001’s Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. He continued playing Sheen in Nickelodeon’s episodes of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius from 2002-2006 and in the character’s own spinoff series, Planet Sheen.

Garcia also portrayed the character in Nickelodeon’s TV movie Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies and in numerous Nickelodeon video games, most recently in 2025’s Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny.

While he was best known for Jimmy Neutron, he starred in a variety of other animated series as well. He voiced Pip the Mouse in the 2006 film Barnyard and in the Nickelodeon show Back at the Barnyard, which aired from 2007-2011. Garcia also guest-starred in an episode of MTV’s Clone High.

In terms of animated movies, he voiced the penguin Rinaldo in George Miller’s 2006 film Happy Feet, where he starred alongside Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, and Hugo Weaving. He returned to voice Rinaldo again in the 2011 sequel, Happy Feet Two.

The same year as Happy Feet Two, Garcia starred in another popular animated movie, Rio. He voiced Tipa, one of the henchmen for the bird smuggler, Marcel (Carlos Ponce). In Rio 2, which was released in 2014, he took over the role of Kipo, a bird character voiced by Bernardo de Paula in the first movie, and he also played a bird named Peri.

Only weeks before Jeff Garcia‘s death, he appeared as a guest on Byron Allen’s comedy talk show, Comics Unleashed. Along with his son, Joseph, the actor and comedian is survived by his daughter, Savannah.
