If you’re a PlayStation Plus gamer, you’ve got just 24 hours left to play a highly underrated Square Enix RPG before it’s removed from the service. This is a game that got a seriously rough ride at launch, and honestly? It’s actually pretty good. Maybe even great.
Released for PlayStation 5 back in 2023, Forspoken is one of those games that got mercilessly ragged on when it launched, arguably to an unfair degree. There’s some wince-inducing dialogue, to be sure, and it doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel as far as open-world games go. But there are much worse games out there, and if you were ever on the fence, it being free with PlayStation Plus is kind of perfect.
Forspoken Leaves PlayStation Plus Tomorrow

Forspoken officially leaves PlayStation Plus Extra tomorrow (December 16) along with a bunch of other games, so this is your last chance to check it out for free.
Over on the PlayStation Plus subreddit, there are quite a few posts from gamers who are really glad they gave Forspoken a go in spite of their reservations.
As one post articulated quite nicely “I’m glad I tried it”:
“I’m actually enjoying this game a lot. Traveling from point A to B is fun thanks to the fast traversal system that made my journey enjoyable. The parkour and magic system are what make me like this game .I’ll never rely on the internet again. I’d rather try it myself first.”
This is the general vibe of PlayStation Plus gamers who gave a bit of time to Forspoken. While I’m not certain you could get through the entire game before it’s removed tomorrow, you could give it a go. The website How Long To Beat claims you can blast through the main story in around 17 hours, so assuming you don’t work or sleep, you should be good.

Sonic Frontiers is another underrated open-world game with really fun movement systems, so give that a go. Oh, and 11-11 Memories Retold is also a wonderful game that you could definitely finish before it’s removed tomorrow.
While PlayStation Plus is losing some great games, it’s also been creating a pretty stacked December 2025 lineup that includes surprise GOTY contender Skate Story, so definitely go and check that out.
