8 Major Characters Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Introduce

After leaving fans on an agonizing cliffhanger for two whole years, Jujutsu Kaisen is finally returning with season 3 this winter. With only a few more weeks to go until the new season premieres, the excitement surrounding the series could not be more palpable, and a huge reason for this is all the new characters being introduced in season 3.

Besides kicking off the deadly battle royale called the Culling Game, season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is introducing many new and exciting faces. Many of these new characters, such as Kashimo, Higuruma, and many more, will be crucial to the story, especially in the final battle, so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for them and their abilities.

Naoya Zenin

First Appearance: Chapter #138

For the most part, Jujutsu Kaisen’s villains are Cursed Spirits such as Mahito, Jogo, and Hanami, with occasional Curse Users like Kenjaku thrown in. Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is expected to introduce a host of new villains, Cursed Spirits and Curse Users alike, though Naoya Zenin would have to be one of the most anticipated antagonists of the lot.

Naoya has already made a few fleeting appearances in the trailers for season 3, hinting at an early debut. Surprisingly, despite his despicable character, Naoya remains quite popular among fans, as evidenced by popularity polls, and his popularity might only skyrocket with his anime debut.

Kinji Hakari

First Appearance: Chapter #153

In the face of Gojo’s absence, season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen will inevitably see the sorcerers try to gather as many allies as possible, and this includes the suspended third-year sorcerer Kinji Hakari. As far as complicated Cursed Techniques go in Jujutsu Kaisen, Hakari’s pachinko-inspired Cursed Technique takes the cake.

All that said, it will be interesting to see whether the anime can possibly do a better job at explaining Hakari’s Cursed Technique, Private Pure Love Train.

Yorozu

First Appearance: Chapter #211

Without spoiling too much, Yorozu is a reincarnated sorcerer, one of many who made vows with Kenjaku. What makes her interesting is her relationship, or rather her obsession with Sukuna during the Heian Era.

While she never truly gets any acceptance from Sukuna, Yorozu does play a huge role in the final arc by giving Sukuna a weapon created using her Cursed Technique, Construction. That said, the biggest reason to keep an eye out for Yorozu is, of course, the big plot twist involving her and a certain member of the Fushiguro Family.

Hajime Kashimo

First Appearance: Chapter #158

Much like Yorozu, Kashimo is a reincarnated sorcerer from 400 years ago who made a pact with Kenjaku to become a player in the Culling Game, all for the chance to face Sukuna in battle. Of course, how that fight ends up going is another matter entirely, but Kashimo’s lightning powers do make for quite a spectacle.

His Cursed Technique, Mythical Beast Amber, proves its strengths very early against Hakari, and while he does start out as an opponent, he does switch sides eventually. Kashimo’s thirst for action and a true fight are quite enthralling to behold, and it might very well get a fan base of his own when he makes his debut in season 3.

Fumihiko Takaba

First Appearance: Chapter #146

One character who’s sure to be an instant fan favorite in season 3 is Takaba, a newly awakened sorcerer and the series’ resident comedian, quite literally in the sense of the word. Takaba’s Cursed technique makes it so that anything he thinks is funny can be made a reality, making way for some really funny mid-fight shenanigans.

Despite the ridiculous nature of the ability, Takaba’s Cursed Technique, Comedian, is truly quite broken, and unexpectedly enough, Takaba ends up playing a huge role against one of the final villains of the series.

Hana Kurusu/Angel

First Appearance: Chapter #145

With Gojo being sealed away in the Prison Realm during the Shibuya Arc, Hana Kurusu, or rather Angel, might just be the most important character in the entire series going into the Culling Game Arc. In fact, finding Angel is one of the biggest priorities of the entire arc, as only she can break the seal and free Gojo.

That said, besides being incredibly crucial to the plot, Hana’s character also hides an interesting past, including a connection to Megumi Fushiguro, but fans will have to wait till season 3 releases to learn all about it, including Angel’s relationship with a certain “Fallen One.”

Hiromi Higuruma

First Appearance: Chapter #158

Hiromi Higuruma is easily one of the most interesting characters introduced during the Culling Game Arc, with an even more interesting Cursed Technique to boot. His Cursed Technique, Judgeman, as well as his Domain Expansion, titled Deadly Sentencing, are directly inspired by his past as an attorney before he awakened as a sorcerer.

Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen will very likely adapt the battle between Higuruma and Yuji, which, along with Higuruma himself, will definitely be a battle to keep an eye out for.

Yuta Okkotsu

First Appearance: Chapter #0

Although introduced in the prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta Okkotsu is set to properly debut in the main series in season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen. So far, Yuta has only made a small cameo at the very end of season 2, leaving fans with an ominous promise to execute Yuji, explaining the new compilation film being titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution.

That said, the Yuta fans meet in season 3 will clearly be very different from the timid boy fans remember from Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Season 3 will finally see Yuta in action, now with his control over Rika more refined than ever, making him a very crucial ally throughout the Culling Game and the final big battle against Sukuna to come.
