Solo Leveling Anime Creator Teases a Change Coming For Jinwoo in Season 3, But There’s a Big Catch

Solo Leveling has quickly become one of the most talked-about anime adaptations in the past year. The series brings the popular web novel and comic to life with intense battles and jaw-dropping visuals. The story follows Sung Jinwoo, a weak hunter who turns into a powerhouse after a deadly dungeon raid.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, A-1 Pictures producer Atsushi Kaneko offered an intriguing tease about the future of the series. While discussing the possibility of a third season, Kaneko hinted at a major shift in Jinwoo’s arc, suggesting that significant changes are on the horizon for Solo Leveling.

Sung Jinwoo Will Experience a Massive Shift in the Next Season

Season Three Will Explore a Different Side of Jinwoo

Sung Jinwoo’s evolution throughout Solo Leveling has seen him rise from the world’s weakest hunter to the world’s strongest, becoming an unstoppable force. However, if season three moves forward, the next stage of his development will likely come with unforeseen consequences. According to the anime’s producer, Jinwoo’s rise in power won’t come without personal cost.

“If we get a season three, Jinwoo would become the strongest, but he would lose something in that regard. He would be incomplete. We want to show that conflict and I would be happy to show that.”

This potential shift hints at a deeper, more intense emotional arc that lies ahead, that explores the price of power. Rather than just celebrating Jinwoo’s strength and abilities, season three may challenge what strength really means in light of what he had to give up to achieve it.

A-1 Pictures has already demonstrated its ability to balance explosive battles with meaningful character moments, such as Jinwoo saving his mother and reuniting with his family. If the next season dives into Jinwoo’s inner conflict as suggested, it could provide fans with a more in-depth portrayal of the protagonist.

Solo Leveling Has Slowly Been Exploring Jinwoo’s Loss of Humanity

Jinwoo Will Likely Lose More of Himself as He Rises in Power

From the start of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo’s rapid rise in strength has been astonishing. After awakening as a Player, guided by the System, he quickly outpaces even the most elite S-rank hunters. With every battle he takes part in, Jinwoo becomes more powerful, yet increasingly isolated. His abilities place him in a league of his own, unmatched by ordinary humans.

Solo Leveling Staff Quietly Drops a Season 3 Update After Anime of the Year Win

Solo Leveling just won Anime of the Year and now is getting hints and teases about its upcoming 3rd anime season that is highly anticipated.

While Jinwoo’s power seems limitless, it comes at a high cost. Unlike other hunters, he is bound to the System, compelled to complete quests and follow commands. This unique structure gives him great strength, but at the expense of his free will and humanity. This was first indicated when Baruka, the Ice Elves’ leader, told him he was not entirely human.

Season Three of Solo Leveling is expected to explore the deeper psychological toll of Jinwoo’s power. A-1 Pictures producer Kaneko has said that an inner conflict will likely be explored in upcoming chapters, adding more depth to the series’ main character. This shift could signal a bold new direction for Solo Leveling that enhances the hit series.
