Anime fans rejoice, as 2025’s most overlooked dark fantasy series, Tougen Anki has announced its return with a sequel anime titled Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc. The anime made this announcement with a teaser visual and announcement trailer.
Tougen Anki anime started airing with the Kyoto Arc in July 2025, followed by the Nerima Arc in October 2025. Soon after the anime released its finale, the series announced its sequel. The anime has yet to announce its release date.
Tougen Anki Announces Sequel Anime
On Friday, December 26, soon after Tougen Anki episode 24 finished airing, distribution company REMOW announced that the production for the series’ next installment had been approved. The anime sequel will be called “Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc.”
The company unveiled this announcement with a teaser visual and announcement trailer, teasing a new character, Hayate Todoroki.
Hayate Todoroki can be seen standing amid swirling winds, unleashing a blade-like manifestation of his Blood Eclipse Release.
Tougen Anki’s New Trailer Hypes Up the Nikki Kegon Falls Arc
The anime’s sequel announcement trailer opens with a compilation of the most iconic scenes from both the Kyoto and Nerima Arcs. That said, the trailer is not just packed with moments worth visiting again but also those that heighten the anticipation for the next chapter of the story.
After enduring fierce battles and gradually coming to understand the long-standing feud between Oni and Momotaro, Shiki is set to encounter a formidable new presence in the next story arc. This character is none other than Hayate Todoroki. While the trailer previews the character’s voice, the anime does not reveal the voice actor behind the character.
Hayate Todoroki is an Oni descendant and Child of Kishin, just like Shiki Ichinose. The character first appears in the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc and is a key figure who leads the Oni Brigade, an organization independent of the Oni Agency. The question is whether the powerful newcomer is an enemy or an ally?
