Grand Theft Auto 6 fans already know that the game is going to be one of their most-played games of all time, that is if and when it finally releases this November (fingers crossed). However, it appears that after an official Rockstar update, players are going to have their hands even fuller than they thought.
Rockstar Games-owned Cfx.re recently announced they’re launching an official Modding Marketplace called Cfx Marketplace (via Cfx) which will allow modders to upload projects for GTA 6 and other games—and actually get paid for them.
The new platform includes “curated … FiveM and RedM creators’ content” where server owners and modders “can discover assets, scripts, and upload your own creations.” The Cfx Marketplace is live now, with content and features gradually being rolled out in the weeks and months ahead.
Rockstar Has Launched An Official Modding Marketplace
Rockstar’s new UGC (user-generated content) modding marketplace is already live and supporting a number of well-known modders, such as Razed Mods, NTeam Development, and many more to come. The marketplace is “a curated digital storefront” that serves as a platform for FiveM/RedM creators to post and sell their mods.
The marketplace is a great step in the right direction for modders and server owners in the Rockstar community, and provides a more streamlined process and centralized location for them to share their mods. The marketplace also ensures modders will benefit directly from their hard work, and it will likely continue to grow over time to bring more and more content creators into the fold.
This Is Huge For GTA 6’s Longevity
The Cfx Marketplace has huge implications for Grand Theft Auto 6 players when the game finally releases this year. It will likely make mods more accessible to the entire community, allow modders to be more creative and flexible with their projects, and remove a lot of the headache for creators.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is already going to be one of the biggest games ever released, giving players countless hours of gameplay and a massive open world to explore—but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. When you factor in modded content into GTA 6 and think of the possibilities, you can see how GTA 6 might have more longevity than any game that came before it.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to release on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X (assuming Rockstar doesn’t delay that again), and fans will definitely want to keep an eye on the Cfx Marketplace when it does.
