A grand mix between Grand Theft Auto 6 and Genshin Impact is what composes a new game that you will want to keep on your radar, even if it’s unclear when it will be released. Rockstar’s new action-adventure game hasn’t even been released yet, but it is already inspiring games, while HoYoverse’s RPG has served as a foundation for several others. Players will still have to wait for the release of GTA 6 later this year to learn what it will offer, but expectations are high.
Regardless of the fact that it hasn’t been released, the upcoming game and Genshin Impact are serving as a mutual inspiration for a new game called Varsapura. The reveal of Varsapura, which is developed by HoYoverse, occurred a few months ago, in November 2025. The title seems like an ambitious open-world action-adventure title that mixes Rockstar’s upcoming game with hints of fantasy and RPG systems used in HoYoverse’s hit action RPG.

Varsapura Is Set In A Large Open-World Map
The game’s announcement game with a 31-minute demo, showcasing a lot more about what you can expect from it once it is released. Varsapura will be centered around a bureau called SEAL, which deals with a Mindrot problem in the in-game universe. As seen in the demo, this new HoYoverse game will be a bit more grounded in reality in comparison to HoYoverse’s other franchises, even though there are still fictional elements to it.
For example, Varsapura has a more modern-day-looking city, and there are even vehicles to drive around, which is precisely what grants it its comparison to GTA 6’s car system. The game will be a bit more eerie, with touches of the supernatural as part of its main campaign. Based on what has been shown so far, Varsapura will have a huge open world to explore, which further bolsters its comparisons to the anticipated GTA 6.
The game has a combat system that, in ways, is similar to what we’ve seen in Genshin Impact, but in many ways it is different. For starters, it doesn’t seem like this is an element-based type of combat system, though the damage trackers do indicate some sort of RPG build system. Varsapura also stands out with a stealth system, which allows the protagonist to move silently and execute enemies without necessarily starting a combat session.

Varsapura Will Likely Take A While To Arrive
HoYoverse has not yet issued a statement regarding the release date or even release window for Varsapura yet. Even though it’s unclear when it will be released, it is expected to take a while before it officially arrives. This game looks extremely large, and HoYoverse is no stranger to games of this scope, but Varsapura looks a lot different, too. Moreover, the demo ended with a huge listing of job openings for the title’s development.
With it being showcased just a few months ago, it’s likely that the hiring process is still happening, and development is still underway. Lastly, HoYoverse often works with beta test periods, so we’ll know that Varsapura is getting closer as players get to test it out before its official release. Even so, this title from the creators of Genshin Impact will likely only be released after GTA 6.
