Meghan Trainor has announced the birth of her third child on social media. The announcement came as a shock to fans after she kept her surrogacy under wraps.
Megan Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, whom she married in 2018, were blessed with their daughter, Mikey Moon Trainor, on January 18, 2026. Two days later, they announced her birth via Instagram. In the post, Trainor shared a series of heartwarming photos paired with an emotional caption that shared details of her surrogacy journey.
The first photo shows Trainor holding her daughter soon after her birth. She’s holding her newborn close to her chest while doing skin-to-skin contact, a bonding practice where parents place their child directly on their skin, where the baby can receive emotional and health benefits. The singer has tears in her eyes and a smile on her face while showing off the newest member of her family.
In the next picture, the couple’s two other children, Riley and Barry, can be seen fawning over their new baby sister while sporting “big brother” shirts. It was also revealed that the boys chose their sister’s middle name. The same post shows close-up pictures of Mikey and other photos from her first few days on Earth.
Trainor’s caption thanked the medical professionals involved in the birth of their daughter. Their surrogate got a special shout-out and was deemed the “superwoman surrogate.”
She also made sure to note that the surrogacy was done in the safest way possible. The caption reads:
We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.
The “All About That Bass” singer concluded the post with, “We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all,” which hints that we won’t be hearing from the family of five for a while, at least until they’ve fully assimilated their newest member.
Fans in the comment section celebrated after Trainor and Sabara revealed the news, commenting on how well they kept the secret and how thrilled they are for the couple.
The exact reason why Trainor chose surrogacy is unconfirmed, but she detailed the struggles she faced during her first two pregnancies in her book, Dear Future Mama, which came out in 2023. There were many complications with Riley’s birth, and that led to a PTSD diagnosis for Trainor after being left alone after her C-section while the baby was rushed to the NICU.
Even with the trauma of Riley’s birth, Trainor was determined to have more children, and she got her wish.
Fans don’t have to worry, the performer won’t be missing in action for very long. The Meghan Trainor: The Get In Girl Tour starts on June 12, 2026, in Clarkson, Mississippi. Tickets are available now.
