With many shows on hiatus and numerous others canceled, fans need something to look forward to from CBS, NBC, and ABC. The good news is that all three stations have released their preliminary schedules for the fall. In this current schedule, only one new, original series is slated for the fall. The other new shows are all spinoffs of highly rated and established TV series.
One thing to note is how spread out each network has placed most of their shows. There isn’t much competition for viewership among them. For the network TV lover, there will be a little something every single day of the week. This means the fans will be able to watch all their favorite TV series without having to sacrifice one for the other.
Below are the schedules for the fall 2025 TV season for each network and the premiere dates for a handful of shows.
CBS
Unveiling CBS’s Lineup For The Fall 2025 Season
CBS has the best mixture of long-running shows, like NCIS and FBI, and newcomers such as DMV and the Fire Country spinoff Sheriff Country. There is a little something for everyone, new and old fans alike. Thankfully, we know not only CBS’s schedule for the fall 2025 TV season, but we also know the exact premiere dates for all the channel’s TV series.
The week kicks off with Tracker season 3 on Sunday nights — CBS is the only network with a show airing on this day (so far). Then, to separate NCIS from the rest, CBS’s fall 2025 schedule will air all three of the franchise’s TV series on one night, giving it its own block. Boston Blue, a new spinoff of Blue Bloods starring Donnie Wahlberg, will close out the week on Fridays.

On Mondays, The Neighborhood will air its eighth and final season. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is returning on Thursday nights for a second season, making it the second Big Bang Theory spinoff show to have multiple seasons. Following Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage on Thursday nights, comedy fans will get to enjoy their favorite group of souls in Ghosts season 5. Thursdays will end with new episodes of Elsbeth to round out the sitcom night.
CBS originally planned on debuting CIA in the fall of 2025. However, the FBI spinoff is now being held for midseason, and Watson season 2 will be taking its place on the schedule, airing new episodes on Mondays following FBI season 8.
FBI fans will be disappointed to only see the flagship show on the schedule. Unfortunately, both FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International were canceled. As a result, FBI is the only show to remain from the universe. On the bright side, CBS is coming out with a new FBI spinoff titled CIA. Tom Ellis of Lucifer fame is set to headline the upcoming offshoot, which is being held for midseason.

NBC
A Look At NBC’s Programming Slate For Fall 2025
NBC is very heavy on drama shows in the fall of 2025, with the second seasons of The Hunting Party and the Zachary Quinto-led Brilliant Minds. Both of these TV series are the only original drama shows left on the NBC fall slate. The rest are all part of larger, highly successful universes.
The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds, along with the Law & Order and One Chicago universes, emphasize NBC’s love for drama TV over the span of four days. Wednesdays are dedicated to the One Chicago universe, giving fans a full three hours of their favorite city’s first responders via new seasons of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med. Meanwhile, Law & Order dominates (most of) Thursdays.

NBC Cancels Found Ahead Of The Season 2 Finale
NBC has canceled Found after just two seasons, and another drama is sharing the same fate as the network makes significant scheduling changes.
After a few notable cancellations from NBC in the spring of 2025, only two sitcoms are set to premiere on the network in the fall. Last year, NBC had four comedies for fans of sitcoms. For this upcoming season, it has been reduced to half. St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place are both in their sophomore seasons and will carry the network’s lighter side.
The Voice will inhabit the Mondays at 8 pm ET timeslot starting in September, but when the reality competition show’s episodes reduce to one hour instead of two in November, St. Denis Medical will take over. The Voice will then shift to 9 pm ET.
There are no new shows slated for the fall as of the writing of this article. Everything that is currently on the schedule has been on for at least a year. However, NBC is reportedly deciding between a few new sitcoms for two timeslots in November 2025 — Mondays and Fridays at 8:30 pm.

ABC
Exploring ABC’s Schedule For The Autumn Of 2025
The smallest scripted schedule is ABC, seeing as the channel has its fill of sports and reality shows. Nevertheless, we will see the return of many long-running, fan-favorite series on the network. For example, 9-1-1 is returning for its ninth season and Grey’s Anatomy for its 22nd season.
Fans will be disappointed to see The Rookie season 8 and Will Trent season 4 have been pushed back until early 2026. Both shows were postponed until January 2025 for their respective previous seasons, so fans will have to wait close to a year for new seasons again. Meanwhile, ABC tentatively canceled Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey, meaning it doesn’t have a spot on the network’s fall 2025 schedule.
ABC will be home to Monday Night Football in the fall of 2025.
After the cancellation of 9-1-1: Lone Star on Fox, fans will have something new to look forward to on ABC. The 9-1-1 universe expands with its second spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville. It will premiere after its flagship show on Thursdays and is the only new show on the schedule.
High Potential and Shifting Gears will begin their sophomore seasons with the hope that they will capture the same success as their first season. After spending the second half of its fourth season on Tuesday nights, Abbott Elementary will premiere its fifth season back on Wednesday nights.

How CBS, NBC, & ABC’s Revamped Schedules Compare To Each Other
Ratings Have Been Taken Into Consideration
The fall 2025 schedule for the major shows, for the most part, is very similar to last season’s. Almost every renewed show is on the same night and time as last year. Each network’s highest-rated shows found success where they were, with one exception, and moving them to new nights was not necessary.
This is good news for the fans. When planning their viewings, not much will have to change for them. Unfortunately, the lists for all three stations are much shorter than they were last year. There were many cancellations of lower-rated shows, after all.
Schedules are subject to change.
All three stations, CBS, NBC, and ABC, however, have opted for expanded universes rather than giving new ideas a chance. Major shows like Fire Country and 9-1-1 have continued to hold steady in numbers, prompting networks to continue to expand upon them.
Newer TV series are not given the same grace, even when their numbers are just as great as the established shows. This may be something that might change for the spring block, but we will have to wait and see what CBS, NBC, and ABC have planned.
