Sadly for those attending, Hayden Christensen has just canceled his upcoming appearance at Comic Con Manchester, but that’s actually good news for anyone who loves Anakin Skywalker. Christensen’s return as Anakin is already confirmed to be coming in Ahsoka season 2; that was one of the biggest reveals at Star Wars Celebration 2025.
However, we just got a major update on that return, even if it came in a disappointing way. Per the Comic Con Manchester X account, Hayden Christensen canceled his appearance at Comic Con Manchester because he will be filming. The account shared, “Unfortunately Hayden Christensen has night-time film shoots over the weekend of our convention.”
While the exact project Christensen will be working on is not identified in this post (which would have been odd for the account to share, if they were even informed), this is almost certainly Hayden Christensen filming for Ahsoka season 2.

This Timing Would Make Sense, As We Know Ahsoka Is Filming This Summer
The news that Hayden Christensen will be missing out on Comic Con Manchester for filming heavily suggests he’s working on Ahsoka season 2. After all, we know that Ahsoka season 2 is well underway and has been filming this summer. While it’s possible Christensen is working on something else, that doesn’t seem incredibly likely.
It also makes sense that filming would be unavoidable and would take priority in this case, as disappointing as it genuinely is for Christensen to be unable to appear at the upcoming event. Yet, there’s something even more thrilling about this Hayden Christensen news, and it has everything to do with Anakin Skywalker’s storyline in the upcoming season.

If Hayden Christensen is still filming scenes even now, then Anakin Skywalker’s role could be rather significant in Ahsoka season 2. Yes, we already knew Christensen was returning in the new season, but it wasn’t clear to what extent he would be in the show.
This is especially exciting because the Ahsoka season 1 ending revealed that Anakin was on Peridea with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren as a Force Ghost. Particularly given what we know about Force Ghosts in Star Wars, including how much they really are capable of, this could mean heavy involvement from Anakin in aiding Ahsoka and Sabine.
Of course, all of this remains speculative for now. We can’t say with certainty whether Christensen is indeed filming for Ahsoka season 2, and we can only guess at what this means for his character. For now, though, signs currently point to Hayden Christensen’s role as Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka season 2 being substantial.
