Warner Chappell Music signs Australian songwriter Sam Hales, along with a global publishing deal with label Rico O Muerto.
Warner Chappell Music announces the signing of a global publishing deal with one of Australia’s most acclaimed songwriters, Sam Hales. The agreement will encompass Sam’s entire catalog and future works.

Sam has produced and written songs for seven successful albums across The Jungle Giants and Confidence Man discographies. As frontman of The Jungle Giants, Sam and the band have pocketed nearly a billion streams worldwide, achieved a #1 ARIA-charting album, multiple platinum and gold singles and albums, and toured to a legion of global fans.
His co-writing credits include tracks with Hermitude and Mexican breakout star RENEE, and remix collaborations with a who’s who of the electronic world, including Odd Mob, Joe Goddard from Hot Chip, Chromeo, and Tom Trago. Recently, Sam produced the lead single for Love Fame Tragedy, Murph from The Wombats’ solo project.
News of Warner Chappell’s deal with Sam Hales comes alongside a global publishing agreement with label Rico O Muerto, co-founded by Mexican star Oscar Maydon and Alexis “Chachito” Fierro. In just a year, the label has become a powerhouse with three offices in Mexico and representatives in Los Angeles. It recently signed its first flagship songwriter, Victor Mendívil, in partnership with Downtown Artist and Label Services.
