It’s that time of year again! For the days leading up to the New Year, we have a series of ‘Year in Review’ articles, compiling and featuring the Royal Highlights of 2025. It’s my birthday today, and since all birthdays should have Tiaras, today’s article is a roundup of the Royal Tiaras of 2025!

- This year’s most notable Tiara appearances were at Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stephanie’s Accession Gala as well as the usual Royal Weddings and State Banquets, in addition to several special Exhibitions and Auctions.
- Each Year, there is a Royal Lady that has had more notable Tiara appearances than the others, and after Queen Mathilde in 2016, Queen Letizia in 2017, Queen Máxima in 2018, the tie of Empress Masako of Japan and Queen Azizah of Malaysia in 2019, numerous ties in 2020, Queen Silvia’s victory in 2022, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in 2023, and Queen Mary last year, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands is in the lead again with eight appearances, followed by five for Queen Silvia of Sweden and Queen Sonja of Norway, four for Queen Camilla, Queen Mary of Denmark, Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg, and Crown Princess Victoria, and three for Queen Mathilde of Belgium, the Princess of Wales, Princess of Orange and Crown Princess Mette-Marit . Queen Letizia of Spain had two while Empress Masako of Japan and Princess Charlene of Monaco had only one.
- There were also many Tiara debuts and important reappearances, at the splendid Royal and Noble Weddings and State Banquets, with notable appearances of Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara, Queen Caroline Amalie’s Gold Tiara, the Greville Emerald Tiara, Queen Alexandra’s Diamond Circlet, Queen Victoria Eugenie’s Cartier Pearl Tiara, Diamond Foam Tiara, Fife Fringe Tiara, Prussian Clover Coronet among others.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore the Belgian Scroll Tiara and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore the Citrine and Pearl Tiara for the Luxembourg New Year’s Reception.
Chrysi Vardinogianni wore the Antique Corsage Tiara on loan from Queen Anne Marie for her Wedding of Prince Nikolaos of Greece at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Rangavas in Athens.
Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin wore the Selangor Diamond Fringe Tiara for the Selangor Opening of Parliament.
Queen Mary wore her Diamond Necklace Tiara and Queen Margrethe II wore the Baden Palmette Tiara for the Arts and Culture Gala at Christiansborg Palace.

Iconic Jewels from Royal and Noble Collections went on display in the highly anticipated Cartier Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Queen Máxima wore the Württemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara, the Princess of Orange was wearing the Mellerio Ruby Tiara, and Princess Viktória of Bourbon-Parma wore the Dutch Sapphire Necklace Tiara for the Oman State Visit to the Netherlands.
Queen Azizah wore her new Diamond Tiara for the Pahang Opening of Parliament.
Sultanah Nur Zahirah wore the Terengganu State Diadem, Queen Zara Salim of Perak was wearing her Diamond Tiara, Tengku Permaisuri (Queen) Norashikin was in the Selangor Diamond Fringe Tiara, Sultanah Maliha of Kedah and wore the Kedah Diamond Tiara for the Raja of Perlis’ Silver Jubilee Banquet.
