The Dutch and Belgian Royal Families have joined the Grand Ducal Family for the Accession of Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg on October 3rd, upon the Abdication of Grand Duke Henri.
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg received the Dutch and Belgian Royal Families as well as the President of the European Council, the President of the European Parliament and national Dignitaries outside the Palais Grand-Ducal.
Grand Duke Henri signed the document of abdication in the Salle des Fêtes at Palais Grand-Ducal, which was followed by a reading of the Grand Ducal decree and a speech by the Prime Minister.
Grand Duke Guillaume wore the military uniform of a General, Commander of the Army with the Order of the Gold Lion of the House of Nassau. Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore her Diamond Earrings with the Order of the Gold Lion of the House of Nassau.
