 King Juan Carlos of Spain was sworn-in in front of the Cortes Generales in Madrid on this day in 1975, 50 years ago, marking the restoration of the Monarchy after over four decades and the beginning of Spain’s transition to Democracy.


Queen Sofia of Spain was awarded the Collar of the illustrious Order of the Golden Fleece by King Felipe VI in a Ceremony at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
