Popular film and television actress Indira Krishnan left everyone shocked with her explosive revelations about the casting couch, which has raised eyebrows. She once drew attention as she spoke about unsafe conditions women face in the film industry. She even said that stars are expected to submit to unwelcome sexual advances from biggies to continue working. She has encountered such terrifying incidents in South India than in the Hindi industry. Indira stated that she has also lost a couple of substantial projects as she did not comply with these demands.

Actress Indira Krishnan has experienced casting couch incidents more than once and during an interview with Bollywood Bubble she said that she has felt this not just once but many times. She even says that she would not say it happened more in the Hindi film industry or in Mumbai, but it happened in the South. She even said that she was finalized for a very big project by a major filmmaker, but they had some differences of opinion regarding the project and she was set to go (with the project), but at the last moment, as it sometimes happens, one small thing ruined the entire relationship. She said that one line, one statement, and everything was over.

She further continued saying that she remember thinking, ‘Oh no…’ I closed my eyes and said to myself, ‘Shit, this film also has slipped through my fingers.’ She further said that she went home and typed a message to him because the way he was talking, his body language, and his expectations had all grown considerably. She spoke about the pressure that started to build, and she felt she could not handle the situation. She then told, ‘Sir, main apna talent bechne aayi hoon, apne aap ko nahi (I am here to sell my talent, not myself).’ Perhaps my words were a bit harsh, but I felt that the clearer you are, the better. It helps you maintain your momentum, builds your energy, and allows you to move on.”
Indira also said that she has lost some really good projects because of the same. She said that the small-screen world helped her showcase her abilities and she got enough respect in TV world. On the work front, Indira will be seen playing the role of Kausalya in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana.
