Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 film Jawan earned him his first-ever National Award for Best Actor in his 33-year career. He also made sure to respond to the well-wishes that flowed in for the Bollywood Badshah in his own unique way, and his one exchange with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has captured all the attention. To congratulate SRK on his significant victory, Tharoor posted on his X Twitter on Sunday night. He wrote, “A National Treasure wins a National Award! Congratulations @iamsrk! (sic).” SRK took notice of it and chose to reply to Tharoor in his signature manner, with some of the best English terms available.

On August 1, SRK received the National Award for Best Actor for the 2023 film Jawan. After winning, he expressed his gratitude to the jury and the public for all of their affection over the years in a touching video message.
“Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B ministry. Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad. Overwhelmed with the love showered upon me. Half a hug to everyone today (sic),” he wrote along with the video.
SRK’s Jawan becomes his biggest hit to date
Shah Rukh returned to the big screen in January 2023 with Pathaan, shattering box office records after a four-year hiatus. He then starred in Jawan, which was directed by Atlee, in which he played two parts: a vigilante son and a soldier father. The movie became the actor’s greatest film to date, grossing over Rs 1000 crore at the box office.
