We have the nominations for MTV‘s 2025 VMAs. Lady Gaga leads the field with a dozen noms, followed by Bruno Mars with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10. They’re the only performers in the double digits, and this marks the third year that Gaga has led all nominees.
Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter are next with eight each, followed by Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (seven), Billie Eilish (six) and Charli xcx (five), Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Tate McRae have four each. See the full list below.
The Moonman statuettes will be handed out during the VMAs ceremony on September 7 at the USB Arena in New York City. CBS and MTV will simulcast the event live, and Paramount+ will stream it.
Vying in the marquee Video of the Year category are Grande’s “Brighter Days Ahead,” Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” Gaga and Mars’ “Die with a Smile,” Rosé and Mars’ “Apt.,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s “Timeless.”
The Artist of the Year race is among Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Lamar, Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. Up for Best New Artist are Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Gigi Perez, Lola Young, Sombr and The Marías.
Two categories are new to the VMAs this year: Best Country and Best Pop Artist.
