Shah Rukh Khan‘s movie Zero that released in 2018 is once again in news. King Khan played the role of a dwarf in the film. Actor Lilliput has now spoken about Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in the film and has compared it to Kamal Haasan‘s act in Appu Raja. Lilliput slammed Shah Rukh Khan for attempting to play a dwarf and criticised his acting. This is not the first time that Lilliput had commented against Zero saying that the film didn’t show the trauma and emotions of a dwarf.
Lilliput’s comment against Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in Zero
Lilliput, in an interview with RedFM, stated that a normal person can play a blind person on screen but it is challenging for an average-height actor to play a dwarf. He questioned, “Because dwarfs are normal, their hand movements are normal, they laugh and think like anyone else, they only look a different way. So, how will you act that out? You will make him look smaller technically.” He then spoke about Shah Rukh Khan saying that the actor is good-looking and cute but is difficult to see him as a dwarf as people pursue him a hero. He also slammed the script of the film. Further, Lilliput praised Kamal Haasan’s performance in Appu Raja as he managed to pick the details of ‘physicality of a dwarf person’. Comparing both the actors, Lilliput made a harsh comment saying that Shah Rukh Khan tried to copy Kamal Haasan but he is nothing compared to Appu Raja star. Lilliput was quoted saying, “Kamal ji ki aap copy kar rahe ho. Unke acting ki charno ki dhool bhi nahi ho aap (You are copying Kamal ji when you are not even equal to the dirt on his feet).”

Zero was directed by Anand L Rai. It starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif as the leading ladies with Shah Rukh Khan playing the male lead. The movie did not do well at the box office. After the film’s debacle, Shah Rukh Khan took a break only to make a smashing return with Pathaan.
