Chetan Hanraj, who was a part of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, recently shared his views on Amar Upadhyay’s decision to quit the show for films.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has brought back some of the most prominent faces of TV industry. Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan and others have come back, reprising their roles from the previous season. Smriti Irani is back as Tulsi Virani, Amar Upadhyay is back as Mihir Virani, Hiten Tejwani is back as Karan Virani and so on. There are a few faces that are missing from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Chetan Hansraj is one of them. He had played the role of Inspector Maan Singh Chauhan in the show. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Chetan Hansraj shared his views over Amar Upadhyay quitting Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi for films. He said that he considered it to be wrong as TV is the medium that brought him immense fame. He was quoted saying, “Yes, I think so. Ab dekho firse agye vo Kyunki mai, circle has been completed now. He is now back on television as Mihir and see the difference in his life. Jis cheez ne aapko bnaya hai, aapko usko aise chorke jaana galat hai mere hisab se. May be I am wrong but I think you have to respect.” He added that Television has been thriving for years and films is a cutthroat medium.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 began on June 29, 2025. The show managed to get the highest TRP over the first week. It created history by clocking 1.6 billion views in its launch week. The show worked well thanks to the nostalgia factor. Smriti Irani as Tulsi and Amar Upadhyay as Mihir managed to captivate audiences attention once again with their chemistry. Some new faces and characters have been introduced in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Stars like Rohit Suchanti, Shagun Sharma, Aman Gandhi and others have also joined the team.
