Coolie starring Rajinikanth in the lead is one of the highly anticipated films. The film directed by Lokesh Kangaraj is going to hit the theatres on August 14. There is a lot of hype around the movie as the film holds a massive star power. Not just Rajinikanth, stars like Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Aamir Khan and others playing pivotal roles. Recently, a grand audio launch event was held that witnessed the presence of all the stars. Rajinikanth was all candid as he spoke about the film and his co-stars. But it looks like some of his words did not go down well with the viewers.
What did Rajinikanth say about Soubin Shahir?
At the audio launch of Coolie, Rajinikanth spoke about Soubin Shahir and shared that he had his doubts whether he would be perfect for the role. He did praise Soubin Shahir and his acting chops, but his choice of words drew a lot of attention. As per reports, Rajinikanth allegedly said, “I still had doubts and even questioned whether he would suit the role because he was bald. But I eventually stayed quiet because Lokesh had full confidence in him.” He then added that when he saw the scenes of Soubin, he was simply blown away.
What did Rajinikanth say about Aamir Khan?
Similarly, he spoke about Aamir Khan and said that he went silent when Lokesh Kangaraj named the Bollywood star for the role of Dahaa. He joked that Aamir Khan would take ages to agree to a script as he is a perfectionist. However, he later praised Aamir by saying, “Just like Kamal Haasan, he is the one in the North. There’s Salman Khan on one side and Shah Rukh Khan on their other. He stands tall among them all despite being short. What a legend! A legend! My salute to you, sir.”
However, the words like ‘bold’ and ‘short’ have drawn attention sparking backlash for Rajinikanth. Many have slammed the legendary star for body shaming the stars. But there are fans of Rajinikanth who has come out in support of him.
