Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress Samridhii Shukla has opened up about the time when she was selected for the role of Abhira Sharma. The actress felt she was not good to be the lead.
Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit have been loved as Abhira-Armaan in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. They have been doing an amazing job and it is a treat to watch them together on-screen. This is one of the longest running shows and has seen four generation stories. Currently, the fourth generation is going on and the actors have been praised for their performances. The storyline has been quite interesting. Earlier, when the fourth generation was introduced, fans were not happy as they all loved Harshad Chopda, Pranali Rathod. Nobody wanted to see a new story and new characters.

However, Samridhii Shukla won hearts as Abhira very soon. The actress recently spoke to India Forums about how she was not sure if she is the right choice for the show. She shared that when she auditioned for Abhira’s character, she was shooting for Saavi Ki Savaari. She shot for the audition clip from her sets and sent. Samridhii was selected and they 2-3 rounds of meetings.
However, she was not aware that she was auditioning for such a big show like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Nothing was told to her about the show and that time Harshad Chopda, Pranali Rathod were already on the show and there were only rumours that the leap is happening. She got to know the show’s name later and she was selected.
Samridhii also mentioned that another artist was also finalised but in the end, she got the show. She was happy with the selection but there was unsaid pressure too. She got many thoughts in her mind. The actress shared, “Yeh show itne saalon se chal raha hai. Agar main aayi aur show band ho gaya toh? I knew it would fall heavily on us, the leads. That’s how it works, no? So I was very scared.”

She also added that it was an on-going show and there wasn’t much briefing and she did not even get time to prepare herself. She felt like jumping into a moving train. She recalled her first day in Mahabaleshwar and said that half team was in Mumbai. She got her script there and she got scared as there were so many lines and the character was completely opposite to who she is. This is a big story in entertainment news and TV news.
In her previous show, she got briefing, workshops happened but there it was direct action and she got scared. She would cry every night after going to her room thinking she is not good enough for the show. The actress said, “I kept thinking, “I don’t think I should be doing this. I think they’ve made the wrong choice. I should just tell them — take someone else. I won’t mind. Just don’t sabotage your show for me.”
