HBO Max has set its panel lineup for Deadline Contenders @ HBO Max, the Emmy-season showcase spotlighting the stars and creatives behind the platform’s buzziest nominated series.
The event takes place Sunday, August 17 at Nya Studios West in Hollywood, with full coverage of the spinoff of Deadline’s FYC event Contenders Television rolling out starting August 18 on the site featuring news, galleries and behind-the-scenes video. To sign up for alerts, click here.
As previously announced, the participating shows are Dune: Prophecy, Fantasmas, Hacks, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Pee-wee as Himself, The Penguin, The Pitt, The Righteous Gemstones, Somebody Somewhere and The White Lotus.
The Last of Us kicks off the day with Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsay and Kaitlyn Dever on a panel that also includes executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, and guest star Joe Pantoliano. The White Lotus will be repped by the likes of creator Mike White, executive producer Dave Bernad, casting director Meredith Tucker and stars Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Sam Rockwell and Natasha Rothwell, while Judd Apatow will moderate a panel for the docuseries Pee-wee as Himself, joined by director and executive producer Matt Wolf and executive producer Emma Tillinger Koskoff.
Other names set to join in are Noah Wyle, Jean Smart, Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Hannah Einbinder, Katherine LaNasa, Deirdre O’Connell, Jeff Hiller, Shawn Hatosy and Bridget Everett, among others.
In addition, the daylong event will include conversations surrounding costumes, hair styling and makeup as well as production design and visual effects headed by the craftspeople who helped bring the HBO Max series to life. There will also be curated installations, immersive rooms, interactive costume showcases, music soundscapes and exclusive photo ops, with activations from Mountainhead, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Conan O’Brien Must Go, 100 Foot Wave, The Rehearsal, Ren Faire, Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story and more.
