On a surprise debut on New Heights, hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, the usually private superstar opened up about how her now-famous relationship with Travis Kelce actually began. “This podcast got me a boyfriend,” Swift joked, crediting the show for playing an unexpected role in their romance. She revealed that during her Kansas City stop on the Eras Tour in 2023, Kelce showed up determined to meet her, but without a meet-and-greet pass. Instead of quietly accepting defeat, he “threw a man-tantrum” about it, something Swift now sees as both hilarious and oddly romantic.

Taylor revealed that Kelce had brought along Patrick Mahomes and even thought knowing “the elevator lady” might get him into her dressing room. He also came with a friendship bracelet, which was completed with his phone number. “At first, I thought, if this guy isn’t crazy and that’s a big if this is exactly the kind of thing I wrote about as a teenager,” Swift said, comparing it to an ’80s rom-com moment, like “standing outside my window with a boombox.”
When Jason asked how she knew Travis wasn’t just a charming lunatic, Swift laughed: “It was wild, but it worked. I’m just circling back to New Heights to say thank you for this.”
One early moment still makes her laugh. On their first date, she asked Travis what it was like in the Super Bowl when the Chiefs played the Eagles, picturing him staring down his brother across the field. “That’s impossible,” Kelce told her, explaining they both play offense and are never on the field together. “I didn’t even know what a first down was… or what a tight end was,” Swift admitted.
Instead of judging her, Kelce found her curiosity endearing. That kindness, she said, made her fall even harder. “I became obsessed with football,” she smiled.
