Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 clashed at the box office. The Bollywood film also starrer Jr NTR in a pivotal role. Here’s the first day box office report of both the movies.
On August 14, two of the most awaited and and mega budget films clashed at the box office. Rajinikanth’s movie, Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj made it to the theatres along with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR‘s movie War 2. There was great buzz around both the films as fans desperately awaited the release of these movies. War 2 is the second instalment of the hit franchise War that is produced by YRF. Coolie, of course, is special because it stars Rajinikanth along with stars like Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Aamir Khan and others. The first day of both the films was full of entertainment and excitement. Here’s the latest box office collection report.
Coolie box office report day 1
On day 1, Rajinikanth starrer managed to mint heavy at the box office. The euphoria around the movie translated well into box of his numbers as it turned out to be one of the highest grossers of this year. As reported by Sacnilk.com, the first day box office collection of Coolie is around Rs 65 crore. The numbers are huge as these are just the domestic collection. As per the reports, the movie is said to have crossed the mark of Rs 100 crore with its overseas collection. As per the reports, the movie witnessed highest occupancy in regions like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, and others. Overall Coolie’s Telugu version had an occupancy of 92.10%.
War 2 box office collection day 1
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s movie also performed well at the box office, however, it failed to beat Rajinikanth starrer. As per the report, War 2 that also starts Kiara Advani managed to mint Rs 52.5 crore on day 1. Currently War 2 is the highest opener of the year and has left behind Vicky Kaushal’s movie Chhaava that had made around Rs 31 crore. War 2 did not only make massively with its Hindi version, but it’s Telugu version also performed really well. As per the report, the Hindi version of the film made around Rs 29 crore while the Telugu version made around Rs 23.25 crore. The presence of Jr NTR in the movie benefit of Ayan Mukherji directorial. The film witnessed highest occupancy in the regions like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow and more.
