Rajinikanth’s movie Coolie and Hrithik Roshan‘s latest release War 2 is what movie buffs are busy talking about. On August 14, both the films made it to the theatres leading to the biggest clash of 2025. Whenever there is a clash, it always has an effect on the box office numbers. However, in recent times it has been witnessed that despite the clash, the films have managed to perform well. Coolie and War 2 drew everybody’s interest as both films are packed with high octane action sequences, and energetic performances. Both the films also hold major star power as Coolie stars, Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan and others playing pivotal roles, whereas, War 2 has stars like Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in leading roles. The first day collection of the movies revealed that it is Rajinikanth starrer that is in the lead. But will the trend continue even on the second day? Here is the latest box office report.
Coolie in the lead
Given that August 15 is a holiday on the occasion of Independence Day, it is anticipated that Coolie and War 2 will see good footfalls in theatres. Going by the latest report shared by Sacnilk.com, Rajinikanth’s film seems to be in the lead. As we write the story, the movie has made around Rs 9.04 crore at the box office. It is just noon, and the movie is already close to hitting double digit numbers. Given that the movie made around Rs 65 crore on its opening day, it won’t come as a surprise if the film crosses the mark of Rs 100 crore by the end of second day.
War 2 box office report day 2
While Coolie is performing well, Hrithik Roshan’s movie is also giving a tough competition to the Rajinikanth-starrer. The gap between the day 2 box office numbers of both films is not much. As per the report, Hrithik Roshan movie has made around Rs 8.33 crore so far at the box office on day two. It looks like there is a neck tonic competition between both the films at the box office. Bollywood film is also drawing a lot of attention in South due to the presence of Jr NTR. The Telugu version of the film performed almost on par with the Hindi version on the first day at the box office. It witnessed highest occupancy in regions like Hyderabad and others.
Both the films definitely seem to be on the path of being among the top earners of 2025. There are still two more days to go for the first weekend to end. Both the films enjoy an extended weekend as the movies released on Thursday instead of Friday. This is a developing story, and the actual numbers will reflect by the end of the day.
