Coolie and War 2 released on August 14 leading to a major clash. Rajinikanth-starrer helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj drew attention as fans hailed Thalaivaa’s energetic performance in the film. War 2 directed by Ayan Mukerji called for attention for the high-octane stunts and presence of Jr NTR in the movie. Both the films took a fabulous start at the box office. War 2 became the highest grossing opener of the year 2025 while Rajinikanth’s Coolie made record-breaking amount on its day 1. After two days of being in theatres, which film is in the leading? Rajinikanth is called legend for a reason. His name is enough to pull in the crowd in the theatres. The actor has been entertaining the masses for 50 long years and has some ardent fan following too. As Coolie released on August 14, many of his fans danced on the beats of dhol outside the theatre to celebrate the film’s release. Even at the box office, Coolie is creating waves. The film remained unstoppable over the first four days at the box office. On first Sunday, the movie made approximately Rs 35 crore at the box office as reported by Sacnilk.com. These are the early estimates. Even though the film registered its lowest on first Sunday, Coolie is still ahead of War 2. The total collection of the movie is now Rs 194.25 crore.
War 2 box office report day 4
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s action thriller managed to beat the first day collection of Bollywood’s highest grossing movie Chaava with its opening day business. And it continued to perform well over the first four days at the box office. As per the report, the movie made around Rs 31 crore at the box office on its first Sunday, i.e., day 4. Despite giving neck-to-neck competition to Coolie, the film is lagging behind in terms of total collection. By the end of day 4, War 2 has made around Rs 173.60 crore.
It is given that both the film will now easily touch the mark of Rs 200 crore within a week setting a benchmark for upcoming releases.
