‘The Pitt’ Casts Zack Morris In Recurring Role For Season 2

EXCLUSIVE: Zack Morris (Goosebumps) has joined the recurring cast of HBO Max‘s hit medical drama The Pitt‘s sophomore season. The series is currently in production and is set to premiere in January.

From creator R. Scott Gemmill and producer John Wells, The Pitt chronicles the urgent challenges U.S. frontline healthcare professionals face through the lens of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department. Offering a real-time format, the series traces, hour by hour, the medical cases and personal crises physicians and nurses must navigate as they reckon with an overabundance of patients and a lack of resources.

Morris plays Jackson Davis, a patient brought to the ED after an uncontrollable outburst in the college library.

The Pitt cast is led by Noah Wyle, who also executive produces and writes. Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, and Gerran Howell round out the ensemble cast. New Season 2 additions include Sepideh Moafi as a series regular, and Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson, and Lawrence Robinson in recurring roles.

Deadline recently revealed that new Emmy nominee Hatosy will direct the 9th episode of Season 2, which takes place over the Fourth of July weekend. Wyle will also take on directing duties. The pair will work together more closely this season, as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Wyle) will count on Dr. Jack Abbot (Hatosy) and newly joined Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) to help with attending duties. The show will also delve deeper into Abbot’s personal life, particularly his relationship with his deceased wife, whom he loved deeply. He continues to wear his wedding ring.

LaNasa, who was also recently nominated for her portrayal of charge nurse Dana Evans, teased that there will be a conversation between her character and Santos (Briones) that will take place in episode 6, which they’re currently shooting. In Season 1, Santos told Dana of her concerns that senior resident Dr. Frank Langdon (Ball) may be pocketing drugs that were meant for patients. Dana brushed her off, but it was later revealed that Langdon was doing what Santos accused him of. With Dana and Santos working so closely together in the ER, hopefully, they can find a way to move past their past differences. More on what The Pitt team dished about Season 2 can be found here.

Season 1 of the series has already won Gotham TV and TCA Awards, as well as 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Wyle, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Hatosy, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for LaNasa.

The medical drama’s freshman season is also set to air on TNT.

The Pitt is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television — where JWP is under an overall deal. EPs are Wyle, Wells, JWP’s Erin Jontow, Michael Hissrich and Simran Baidwan.

Morris will soon be seen starring in ABGO and Amazon’s upcoming feature film, The Bluff, from director Frank E. Flowers and producers Joe and Anthony Russo, starring alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Karl Urban. The film is slated to release in early 2026.

Before, Morris starred in the Disney+ and Hulu hit show Goosebumps, an anthology series based on the book series by R.L. Stein, where he starred opposite Justin Long. For his portrayal of Isaiah Howard, he received a Kids’ Choice Award nomination. His theater credits span major productions on the West End, like Oliver and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He is represented in the U.S. by Elevate Entertainment and in the UK by Creative Artists Management.
