Amid India-Pakistan tensions, the makers of Diljit Dosanjh’s film Sardaar Ji 3 have decided to skip film’s release in India. However, the GOAT singer is receiving a lot of backlash on social media for collaborarting with Pakistani artist Hania Aamir.
Diljit Dosanjh is currently ruling the headlines due to his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. The trailer of his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3 hit the internet today. The trailer confirms the presence of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film. This has irked netizens and Diljit Dosanjh is receiving major backlash on social media. The movie is directed by Amar Hundal. The movie is not going to release in India, however, Diljit Dosanjh has come under fire for his collaboration with Pakistani artist. FWICE has called for a ban on all of his projects.
FWICE President says Diljit Dosanjh hurt Indian sentiments
In a chat with Hindustan Times, BN Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), spoke about Diljit Dosanjh’s collaboration with Hania Aamir for Sardaar ji 3 and mentioned that he has hurt the Indian sentiments. He said that Diljit has insulted the ‘sacrifice of our brave soldiers’ by preferring Pakistani talent over Indian artistes. BN Tiwari was quoted saying, “By collaborating with a Pakistani actor, Diljit has hurt Indian sentiments, disrespected the nation, and insulted the sacrifices of our brave soldiers.”
FWICE President also mentioned that Sardaar Ji 3 will suffer a ban if the film gets released in India. As of now, the film is going to release overseas. “That being said, Diljit working with a Pakistani actor is something we are not ready to overlook. We have called for a strict ban on all upcoming films, songs or any other sort of projects,” BN Tiwari said. Not just Diljit, FWICE has also called for ban on the films by the producers of Sardaar Ji 3.
Producer defends Sardaar Ji 3
Diljit Dosanjh is yet to react to the controversy. However, the producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu has defended the film. To India Today, the producer stated that the film was shot before India’s conflict with Pakistan.
