Harriet Dyer Shares ‘Colin From Accounts’ Update

Fans of Colin from Accounts that have been waiting patiently for Season 3, fret not.

Harriet Dyer, who created and stars in the Australian comedy series alongside her husband, Patrick Brammall, revealed that they continue to work hard on new episodes despite both currently being involved in other projects.

Dyer shared an update on Colin from Accounts while promoting her other CBS comedy, DMV, premiering on October 13.

Colin‘s gonna go into production in January, she revealed to Deadline during CBS’s Fall Press Day on Thursday. “I’m riding between setups. I literally have a really dorky mouse situation in my room here. I’ve cloned myself, and I will be happily fulfilling that situation. It’s coming to worry.”

In addition to being the creators and stars of Colin from Accounts, Dyer and Brammall are behind nearly every layer of its success, as writers and producers, among other departments in which they collaborate with their talented team.

Brammall has also been working on different feature projects, like The Devil Wears Prada 2 and The Dispatcher. We hear Zak, one of the border terriers that plays the titular Colin, has also been busy since finding newfound fame.

(L-R): Chance Jones as Security Guard, Molly Kearney as Barbara, Alex Tarrant as Noa, Tim Meadows as Gregg, Gigi Zumbado as Jocelyn, and Tony Cavalero as Vic

From creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer Dana Klein and based on award-winning author Katherine Heiny’s short story, DMV is a single-camera workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.

In addition to Dyer, the series also stars Tim Meadows, Molly Kearney, Alex Tarrant, Tony Cavalero, and Gigi Zumbado.

If you love Dyer’s fearless attitude towards comedy, you will vibe with her character, Colette, in DMV. As an actor, Dyer is fearless when leaning into those terribly awkward moments in life. For anyone who didn’t catch Season 1 of Colin from Accounts, her character, Ashley Molden, shares a meet-cute with Gordon (Bramall) that transpired after she cheekily “freed the nipple,” leaving the poor man so flummoxed that he accidentally ran over a cute dog.

While we don’t want to give too much away about DMV‘s premiere, the featured image above of Dyer climbing through a window is a setup for an awkward and hilarious situation that her character, Colette, finds herself in. Part of what has her frazzled is this mighty crush she has on a co-worker.

“Physical comedy keeps showing up for me, but I love it. I think the writers have been doing an awesome job writing jokes, but they’ve given all of us stuff. We did a human pyramid the other day, and we did it with aplomb. We loved it. The more we write the physical stuff, the more we get into it. I’m a theater kid, so I really, really like it, and I probably lean into it, so maybe that’s why it keeps coming up. Also, I wrote the Colin stuff, so I only have myself to blame for that,” Dyer shared.

It was also revealed during the panel that Randall Park will guest-star in Season 1 as the manager of a rival branch in North Hollywood, according to Kline. Both she and co-showrunner/executive producer Matt Kuhn previously worked on Park’s hit ABC family comedy, Fresh Off the Boat.

“It was a great reunion. It was wonderful to have him come back up and play in egomaniacal, slithery manager,” shared Kuhn of his recent work with Park. “I won’t speak for the cast, but I think everybody had a great time playing with Randall and just the fun of seeing a different DMV in action.”
