Actor Ranbir Kapoor honored his late father, actor Rishi Kapoor, on his birth anniversary while visiting the Ganpati pandal of Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar in Bandra on Thursday. Currently filming Love And War, the actor shared, “Today is Papa’s birthday He was a huge devotee of Ganpati. I consider myself fortunate to be here.”
Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, who is occupied with the shooting of his forthcoming film Love And War, which marks his collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, attended the Ganpati pandal hosted by Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar in Bandra, Mumbai, on the evening of September 4. After taking darshan, the actor nostalgically recalled his late father, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, on what would have been his birth anniversary; Rishi Kapoor passed away in 2020.

In a clip shared by Filmygyan, Ranbir Kapoor Ranbir Kapoor could be heard saying, “Aaj Papa ka birthday hai. Woh bhi Ganpati ke bohot bade bhakt the. Meri khushnaseebi hai ki main yahan hoon. Yehi chahunga ki mujhe har saal bulaya jaye aur main har saal aau.” (Today is Papa’s birthday. He was also a great devotee of Ganpati. I feel fortunate to be here. I just wish that I get invited every year, and that I come every year.)
Alia Bhatt Shares an Emotional Tribute to Rishi Kapoor
On the 73rd birthday of Rishi Kapoor“>Rishi Kapoor, his daughter-in-law, actress Alia Bhatt, offered a heartfelt tribute. On Thursday, the Student Of The Year actress reshared a video post by her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, on her Instagram Stories. The clip, taken from the show Khullam Khulla – Live with Rishi Kapoor, showed the late actor recounting stories from his career.
Bhatt commented, “Always and forever, miss you.. happy birthday,” conveying her affection and respect.
Rishi Kapoor’s Passing
Rishi Kapoor passed away at 67 after a two-year fight against leukaemia at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. His cremation occurred at Chandanwadi Crematorium during the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown.
