The family of Karisma Kapoor’s late husband, Sunjay Kapur, has been in the news lately. The late businessman’s approx Rs 30,000 crore property is currently at the centre of a controversial succession dispute. The Delhi HC has been approached by Karisma’s children, son Kiaan and daughter Samaira, who claimed that their stepmother, Priya Kapur, forged Sunjay’s will to make herself the only beneficiary. However, Mandhira Kapur, Sunjay’s sister, has been a crucial voice in the ongoing family and legal battle and supported Karisma and her kids during this turmoil.
Who is Mandhira Kapur?
Mandhira Kapur, a second-generation award-winning entrepreneur, is the managing director of SMIC Autoparts Pvt. Ltd., a business established in 2012 with its worldwide headquarters located in London, according to News18. She is the daughter of Rani Surinder Kapur and the late businessman Dr. Surinder Kapur. Nyna and JaiVee are her two children from her marriage to Luke Smith.
Mandhira has another sister?
Superna Motwane, Mandhira’s other sister, and Sunjay were separated for four years because of what she described as a “silly sibling squabble.” Reflecting on their relationship, she had said on Instagram, “My brother and I may not have spoken for the last 4 years, a silly sibling squabble escalated to crazy levels due to egos and natural bullishness, however, that will never take back what we were and what we had.”

Mandhira said she couldn’t believe her brother’s children were left out of his inheritance. She expressed, “We’ve not been allowed to grieve since this (Sunjay’s death) has happened, and it’s been a constant shock every day. My mother did not want to take this to court, and we still hope that Priya would come forward and give us what we are asking for. It’s been unfortunate that his children have been cut off from his will.”
She further added, “We’ve always had good relationships with Karisma and her kids. If anyone knew my brother and his relationship with his children, this is the most bizarre thing that has come out — that they’ve been cut off and Priya is the sole beneficiary of this will.”
Mandhira also said in an interview with CNN-News18 that Sona Comstar board members had confined her mother in a room and forced her to sign paperwork she didn’t understand.
