Hoshi and Woozi have left for military service, fellow members in the band and their fans bid them an emotional farewell.
The self-producing K-pop boy band SEVENTEEN, which debuted in 2015, is saying goodbye, at least for now, to two of its members. Hoshi and Woozi began their mandatory military service this week, with Woozi enlisting on September 15 and Hoshi following a day later on September 16. CARATS, SEVENTEEN’s devoted fans, became emotional as they saw them leave, feeling proud of them but preparing themselves for the next two years, hoping for their safe return.

On top of it all Hoshi shared photos of fellow member The8 (Xu Minghao) cutting his hair for military. One fan posted, “minghao was the one who shaved hoshi’s hair my precious soonhao”

Hoshi’s final message
Hoshi went live on Weverse before his enlistment and left fans with a special message. “Woozi said it’s the first time seeing members and CARATs smiling at the music he made from the outside (from the audience’s perspective) “It was the first time today seeing members and CARATs smiling together at the music I made, from the outside. That was quite joyful. I gain strength before going in. I will go and come back healthy. Thank you.”

In a touching moment, all thirteen SEVENTEEN members gathered to bid farewell to Hoshi and Woozi at their military sites and even had a meal together making fans extremely emotional. One fan even said, “They wrapped up the 2-day concert with a meal together, woke up early the next day to travel to Nonsan to send Woozi off, went back home, woke up early again to travel to Yeoncheon, had a meal, sent Hoshi off and went back home. No one loves SEVENTEEN more than SEVENTEEN.”

Now, with Hoshi and Woozi joining Jeonghan and Wonwoo in service, CARATS are clinging to the same hope: that their idols return safe, stronger, and ready to light up the stage again.
