Kantara star Rishab Shetty REVEALS how he met his wife Pragathi, shares ADORABLE love story: 'She came to...'

The director of Kantara Chapter 1 Rishab Shetty talked candidly about his first meeting with his wife, Pragathi Shetty, in an exclusive interview with Times Now. He remembered their chance encounter when she came to see his movie in theatres. Pragathi expressed, “Me and my friends went to watch a movie.” They both further agreed that it was indeed ‘love at first sight’. “Within one year we got married.”

Rishab explained, “She was the fan of my friend. She came to watch my debut direction, starring Rakshit Shetty.”

About the movie

With a huge first weekend reaction, Kantara Chapter 1, which was released on October 2, surpassed Rs 200 crore by Sunday. It serves as a predecessor to the 2022 cult favourite Kantara and stars Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, and Kishore.

Star Rishab Shetty is the director of both flicks. It examines the spiritual and cultural legacy of the area, emphasising long-standing practices and traditions, and is set under the Kadamba dynasty. Kantara Chapter 1 made close to Rs 290 crore on day 6.

An excerpt from Zoom’s review of the film reads, “After the magnanimous climax in Kantara, Rishab took the challenge to elevate it in the prequel. He doesn’t disappoint. Visibly more muscular than before, the actor-director has the knack to make anything saleable and commands attention to surrender to his vision. His transformation as Guliga Daiva is outstanding.”

Rishab Shetty movie beats THESE films

Kantara Chapter 1 overtook the cumulative receipts of a number of recent high-profile releases on Sunday, such as Lokah Chapter 1 (Rs 153 crore), They Call Him OG (Rs 179 crore), and Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 167 crore). However, its greatest accomplishment was surpassing KGF Chapter 1’s domestic receipts of Rs 185 crore, which made it the third highest-grossing Kannada film in India, after the original Kantara (Rs 310 crore) and KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 860 crore).
