More about War 2
War 2 was directed by Ayan Mukerji and is the second part of Siddharth Anand’s 2019 film War. The original film starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Even though Hrithik Roshan’s role as Kabir was reprised in War 2, Tiger Shroff could not return. This part also introduced Jr NTR and Kiara Advani to the War series.
War 2 box office performance and reviews
The film had mixed reviews from the audience and critics and faced some backlash over the overuse of VFX in the film. War 2 ranked Rs. 364.25 crore at the international box office, while it earned Rs. 471 crore in its entire lifetime.
Roshan had earlier written down a note while sharing pictures of his character from the film, Agent Kabir. The note had said, “Everything seemed so perfect. Like it’s meant to be. A sure shot. No worries, I just needed to do my job right. Which, of course, I did. But something was lurking behind that presumptuous certainty. A voice that I kept shutting out… This is too easy … I know this too well. And another that said, I deserve it; every film doesn’t have to be a torture and trauma and an incessant search for the truth of the moment. Just relax.”
