Zubeen Garg Death Probe: Two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) have been arrested by the Assam Police’s Crime Investigation Department’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) in relation to the unexpected death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore. On September 19, one day before he was scheduled to perform at the Northeast India Festival, the well-known singer died in Singapore. Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, who had been working as PSOs with Zubeen Garg for a while, were apprehended by the SIT/CID team.
What did the SIT chief say?
SIT Chief and Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta said that both PSOs have been taken into custody today. “Yes both arrested by the SIT/CID today. The team have brought the arrested persons to the CJM ( Chief Judicial Magistrate) court for production,” said SIT Chief.
SIT finds Rs 1 crore link in Zubeen case
A substantial cash transaction of more than Rs 1 crore was previously discovered by the SIT/CID in the bank accounts of two Zubeen Garg PSOs. In relation to Zubeen Garg’s death case, SIT has so far detained the primary event organiser, Shyamkanu Mahanta, his cousin, co-singer Amritprava Mahanta, bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, Zubeen’s manager, Siddharth Sharma, and suspended APS officer Sandipan Garg.

Sandipan Garg was suspended by the Assam government earlier this week after the SIT arrested him. The singer’s sudden death is currently being investigated by authorities for potential financial and criminal schemes.
On September 19, Zubeen Garg, Assam’s well-known cultural figure, died in Singapore, one day before he was due to play at the Northeast India Festival. New accusations have surfaced after the first reports that he died in a scuba diving accident.
