The star-studded Filmfare Awards 2025 ceremony was held in Ahmedabad. Laapataa Ladies, starring Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel, grabbed the majority of awards.

The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 were held in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 11. Actor Shah Rukh Khan and film-maker Karan Johar turned hosts for the star-studded award ceremony. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recreated their iconic scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and then also danced to the song Ye Ladki Hai Deewani from their film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, while the night’s co-host Karan Johar and the director of the movie also cheered for them.

An eventful night

The unmatched legacies of Dilip Kumar, Nutan, and Meena Kumari were celebrated at the event. The late filmmaker Shyam Benegal was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously. Veteran actor Zeenat Aman also won the Lifetime Achievement Award, whereas newcomers Nitanshi Goel and Lakshya were recognised for their impressive performances in Laapataa Ladies and Kill, respectively. The star-studded night also witnessed amazing dance performances by Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and Maniesh Paul.

Winners of the Filmfare Awards 2025

The Best Adapted Screenplay was won by Ritesh Shah and Tushar Sheetal for I Want To Talk. The Best Story award was won by Aditya Dhar and Monal Thaakar for Article 370. The Best Dialogue was won by Sneha Desai for Laapataa Ladies. Best Music Album was won by Ram Sampath also for Laapataa Ladies. The Best Lyrics award was given to Prashant Pandey for the song Sajni from Laapataa Ladies. The Best Playback Singer (Male) was awarded to Arijit Singh for the song Sajni from Laapataa Ladies. Best Playback Singer (Female) was awarded to Madhubanti Bagchi for the song Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2. R.D. Burman Award was won by Achint Thakkar for Jigraa, Mr and Mrs Mahi. The Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Zeenat Aman and Shyam Benegal. The Cine Icon Award was given to Nutan, Meena Kumari and Dilip Kumar. The Best Debut (Male) was awarded to Lakshya for Kill. The Best Debut (Female) was won by Nitanshi Goel for Laapataa Ladies. The Best Debut Director was won by Kunal Kemmu for Madgaon Express and Aditya Suhas Jambahale for Article 370. The Best Choreography award was won by Bosco-Caesar for Tauba Tauba. Best Background Score was also awarded to Ram Sampath for Laapataa Ladies. The Best VFX award was given to ReDefine for Munjya. The Best Action award was won by Seayoung Oh and Parvez Shaikh for the movie Kill. The Best Editing award was given to Shivkumar V. Panicker for Kill. The Best Costume award was awarded to Darshan Jalan for Laapataa Ladies.
