Guru Randhawa has sparked controversy with his latest activity on social media. The popular Punjabi singer has deactivated his X account after making a cryptic post, targeting Diljit Dosanjh for his decision to release Sardaar Ji 3. The upcoming film stars Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, who made obscene statements on India’s successful Operation Sindoor, avenging the death of 26 innocent lives lost in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, this year. Guru didn’t mention Diljit’s name in his post, but netizens claimed that the subtle dig was meant for Diljit.
Guru Randhawa takes a dig at Diljit
Guru Randhawa wrote a post on X, allegedly reminding Diljit of his roots. Guru’s viral post reads, “Lakh pardesi hoyieee. Apna desh nhi bhandi daa. Jehre mulk da khayie us da bura nhi mangi da. Even if now your citizenship is not Indian but you were born here pls remember this. This country made great artists and we all are proud of it. Pls be proud of where you were born. Just an advice. Now don’t start controversy again and manipulate Indians LOL. PR bigger thn artist.”
Netizens were quick to understand that Guru’s advising post was for none other than Diljit, targeting his decision to release Sardaar Ji 3 featuring Hania Aamir. Within hours of upload, Guru deactivated his X account.
Sardaar Ji 3 has found itself in trouble after the trailer release on June 22, Sunday, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the lead. The film is set to release in overseas theatres today. Film bodies like the Federation of Western India Cine Employees have banned Pakistani actors from working in India. To avoid controversy, Diljit, who is one of the producers in the film, skipped its release in India.

In a conversation with BBC Asian Network, Diljit said that producers had invested a huge amount in the film, and the shooting was completed before the Pahalgam attack occurred.
