Sunjay Kapur’s will under scrutiny: SHOCKING errors include wrong mention of Karisma Kapoor’s da…
The lawyer informed the court that there was “enough evidence” to begin an investigation into the will. He accused Priya Kapur of forgery and requested the court to keep Sunjay Kapur’s assets intact.
Samaira and Kiaan, Karisma Kapoor’s children, are presently battling in the Delhi High Court against the alleged will of their late father, SunjayKapur. The siblings said on Monday that the paper, which purportedly listed assets valued at Rs 30,000 crore, had “glaring errors” and could not have been created by him. According to PTI, their lawyer presented the argument in front of Justice Jyoti Singh at the hearing of their appeal against the will. His bond with his kids was excellent. The lawyer questioned how he could have misspelled his son’s name several times in the will and typed his daughter’s address incorrectly.
Shocking errors in SunjayKapur’s will
The legal team described SunjayKapur’s will as “bloopers” and “very uncharacteristic” of him. “It is so casual. There are glaring errors in this will. This is not a will which SunjayKapur had prepared, read or made,” the counsel added.
They emphasised the uncommon errors, such as misspelled names and wrong addresses, which cast doubt on the document’s authenticity.
Priya Kapur named in will’s forgery?
Further, the lawyer noted that there was no proof that anybody other than Priya Kapur, the children’s stepmother, had prepared the will. “If this will is a forgery, then only one person could have forged it,” the counsel said.
During the October 9 hearing, the children had previously referred to Priya as a “Cinderella stepmother” and accused her of being “greedy.” In the fairy tale, the young woman is abused by her stepmother, who gives preference to her own daughters.
Delhi HC allows sealed asset list in Kapur case
The Delhi High Court gave Priya Kapur permission to submit a sealed cover listing SunjayKapur’s assets on September 26. Also, the court recommended that the parties to the case refrain from providing the media with specifics.
The children’s lawyer stated that Priya got 60% of the assets, with her son receiving the remaining 12%. “She is also getting 75 per cent of the trust,” he claimed.
