The country was rocked by Sunjay Kapur’s death on June 12, 2025, at the age of 53. Sunjay, the ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor and a well-known businessman, died of a heart attack while playing polo. His family is still figuring out how to deal with their sudden loss. Priya Sachdev Kapur, Sunjay’s third wife, posted the last photo of her late husband on Instagram on the day of his 54th birthday, just before he passed away.

Sunjay is wearing his blue polo shirt in the picture.
A few days after his passing, his team, the Sujan Indian Tigers Polo Team, shared a picture of the deceased player on social media, stating it was his last picture. Priya has since uploaded a picture of herself and Sunjay together in the same uniform before his death on the field.

Priya Sachdev also shared pictures from Sunjay Kapur’s prayer meet. She was observed bending down to worship and presenting flower garlands to a giant photo of him. With this photo, she wrote an emotional note, that read: “Today I feel his loss very deeply! Sunjay’s loss leaves a heart ache in me no one can heal.”

Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor married in 2003 and separated in 2016, following a dramatic divorce that included severe claims leveled by the actress against her former husband. Following this, the businessman married Priya Sachdev. He has two children with Karisma: Samaira and Kiaan. Sunjay and Priya, who already had a daughter from their previous marriage, welcomed a son, Azarius. Sunjay Kapur previously married fashion designer Nandita Mahtani in 1996, but the couple divorced in 2000 and had no children together.
