On October 15, 2025, beloved actor Pankaj Dheer passed away at the age of 68, after losing his long battle with cancer He had acted in multiple films and television shows. However, the project that made him a household name was B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, in which he played the role of Karana. Now, ten days after his passing, his son Nikitin Dheer has made his first post on social media. In this post, he wrote a long and emotional note in which he talked about the moments spent with his father and the lessons he learned from him. Nikitin described his father not just as a parent but also as his best friend.
Nikitin Dheer remembers his father
Nikitin Dheer shared a video on his Instagram in which he can be seen immersing the ashes of his late father, Pankaj Dheer. In the video, he also shared some old memorable pictures of his father. In his post, Nikitin wrote an emotional note expressing deep gratitude to fans and celebrities for the love they showed while he paid tribute to his father.
Trying to control his emotions, he wrote, “It’s said, the only thing that’s guaranteed upon birth is death..We all know it, accept it, believe it, but when one loses someone who is an essential aspect of one’s existence alot of questions arise.” He further said, “On the 15th of October 2025, I lost my Dad, my Guru, my best friend..Shri Pankaj Dheer..he wasn’t well for sometime..it shattered us as a family..”
In his note, Nikitin further wrote, “Today I am more proud than ever to be his son.. He was the best father a boy could ever ask for..taught me what grit is..what character is..what loyalty is..what persevering is..how one should follow their dreams even if the world thinks you’re delusional..All the life lessons he taught me shall be my north star as long as I breathe..”
Nikitin Dheer and his family immersed the ashes of his late father at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh under the guidance of Swami Chidanand Shastri and prayed for the peace of his soul. At the end of his note, Nikitin also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Swami Chidanand.
