Shakira recently won the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album award for her studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Here’s everything you need to know about her Grammy win.
Shakira is currently in double celebration mode at the 67th Grammy Awards. Not only is the pop star celebrating her 48th birthday, but she also bagged the Best Latin Pop Album award for her studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. This marked the singer’s remarkable successful comeback after she took a seven-year-long sabbatical. The star’s 2020 Super Bowl Halftime co-performer, Jennifer Lopez, presented the Grammy to her, which created a very nostalgic and heartfelt moment on stage. Shakira dedicated her victory to immigrants and hardworking women worldwide as she accepted the award at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
Shakira’s speech
While accepting the award, she said, “I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters.” She continued with, “You’re loved, you’re worth it, and I will always fight with you. And to all the women who work really hard every day to provide for their families—you are the true She-Wolves, so this is for you, too.”
More about Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran
