Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently visited Bollywood actress Diana Penty’s beautiful 100-year-old ancestral home. Located in Mumbai, this house is nothing short of a palace. Farah was accompanied by her cook, Dilip.

Farah was amazed by the glimpse of the house. She was impressed by its old European style, high ceilings, wooden staircases, and verandas surrounded by greenery. She jokingly remarked that it felt like Mumbai’s Buckingham Palace and that she had taken Dilip to London.

Upon entering the house, Farah took a look around and admired its beauty. She asked, Where have we come? The house belonged to Diana’s great-grandfather, and even today, most of the furniture and decor remain old. This makes the house feel like a European heritage mansion, despite being in the heart of Mumbai.

Diana Penty graciously received Farah and provided her with a house tour. Diana laughed when Farah playfully inquired if the complete building was hers, and she retorted, The upstairs is mine and the downstairs is ours—that is, Mom’s. Diana went on to say that her mother occupies the bottom floor, and that is the place where the actual kitchen is. Farah, upon arriving, noticed that the entire house was like a time machine to the past.

Farah noticed a vintage wooden table that had a mirror fixed to it. So she inquired, What is its age? and the mother of Diana answered with a smile, More than a century. Farah giggled and exclaimed, Incredible! It is older than me! It is so delightful to see something that is older than me. Farah made her way to the kitchen and appreciated it by saying, This is such a beautiful kitchen. She turned to Dilip and asked, Have you ever come across a house that is as lovely as this one? Dilip was slow to answer and said, No, never.

Diana explained that her family has lived in this house for four generations. She said, I’m the fourth generation here. He also mentioned that his family also owns a farmhouse outside the city. Farah exclaimed, Wow! This feels like another world. This doesn’t feel like Mumbai at all. When Farah entered the living room, she was impressed by the pink sofa, floral cushions, and antique lamps. She said, Everything is so lovely… just like you. Her eyes fell on a strange showpiece in the center that resembled a swing. She asked, What is this? Diana laughed and replied, It’s been here since childhood. Someone probably gifted it to my grandfather or great-grandfather. I heard it came from a World War II ship.

Farah was surprised by the size of the house and joked, Even local dance studios aren’t this big! This feels like the living room of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Mannat.’ Diana laughed and said, Maybe I’m lucky. Farah added, I think I should invite Shah Rukh here. Diana smiled and replied, I’d love it if Shah Rukh came here. The entire visit was filmed for Farah Khan’s vlog, giving fans their first glimpse of Diana Penty’s magnificent ancestral home.
