Baahubali The Epic Box Office Collection Day 1: SS Rajamouli’s re-release roars HIGH, beats Shahid Kapoor’s Deva and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2, earns…

Baahubali The Epic Box Office Collection Day 1: After a decade of Baahubali: The Beginning, S.S. Rajamouli has reaffirmed his position as an exceptional narrator in the Indian film industry. The filmmaker, who reached global fame due to the success of RRR, has now presented Baahubali: The Epic, a re-edited film consisting of both parts of Baahubali. The movie had a very strong first day at the box office. Industry tracker SacNilk reported that the total three-language collection for day one was Rs 9.25 crore worldwide. Another bill of Rs 1.15 crore, was generated through a special preview show for Telugu audience on Thursday that evening, thus the total first-day collection for the movie has reached Rs 10.4 crore including early screenings from the U.S. and North America. As per the initial reports, the Hindi version helped to add approximately Rs 1.25 to Rs 1.50 crore to the total. The overall occupancy of the film in Telugu was 63.63% where morning shows carried 53%, afternoon shows 59%, evening shows 65%, and night shows saw around 77% of the house full. The other versions of Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada also did quite well.

Baahubali The Epic beats Shahid Kapoor’s Deva and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2

The film that is being re-released managed to beat various big-budget films recently. Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan’s Kesari: Chapter 2 only made Rs 7.75 crore on day one and Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Leone’s Tulsi Kumari even lower at Rs 9.25 crore. Another movie starring Janhvi, Param Sundari, opened with a collection of Rs 7.25 crore. The first-day collection of Shahid Kapoor’s Deva was only Rs 5.5 crore. Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma, which has stagnated at the box office, could only make Rs 3 crore on its second Friday.

The 225-minute Baahubali: The Epic is a complete cut and remastered version of two Rajamouli’s movies. It takes the audience back to Mahishmati, featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar, and the fabulous resurrection of Sathyaraj as Kattappa. Baahubali: The Epic had a solid opening, got very positive reviews, and did not face any serious competitor; thus, it is going to make one more box office history and secure Rajamouli’s position as the king of Indian cinema.
