Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma has crossed the Rs 116 crore mark in 13 days. Read on to know more.
Thamma has turned out to be one of the most discussed movies of the year. The film, which is directed by Aditya Sarpotar and is a project of Maddock Films, has got a very strong cast that includes the likes of Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and Varun Dhawan. The drawing power of such a fantastic cast took the film to a great start at the box office with a reputable first-day collections. Tuesday saw Thamma raking in about Rs 24 crores (around Rs 24 crores) across all the languages, with Hindi taking the biggest slice of the pie. On the next day, Wednesday, the movie’s collections went down to Rs 18.6 crore (roughly 22% decline). During the week, the recordings of the film varied differently from day to day — Thursdays recording Rs 13 crore (approximately Rs 10 crore), Sundays Rs 13.1 crore (approximately Rs 12.6 crore), thus the total collection of the first week for Thamma was Rs 108.45 crores from India.

The second week commenced at a somewhat slower pace. On Monday, the picture only made Rs 4.3 crores and next day it had a slight bump of Rs 5.75 crores. The earnings on Wednesday dropped the film again down to Rs 3.65 crores. On Thursday, the numbers sank more to Rs 3.39 crores. On the eleventh day (Friday), Thamma earned roughly Rs 3 crores whereas on the twelfth day it gathered Rs 4.4 crores. On the 13th day, as reported by Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 0.67 crore. So far, the total of the movie’s earnings has touched Rs 116.47 crores. However, these are the initial numbers as per the industry tracker Sacnilk and they may vary a bit when the official reports are out.
All about Thamma’s success
Thamma has managed to secure a spot among the top-grossing films of Ayushmann Khurrana’s career now. It was a major box-office success, coming in at the fourth position among all his films, just below three others, namely Dream Girl (Rs 141.3 crore), Badhaai Ho (Rs 137.31 crore), and Bala (Rs 116.38 crore). Rashmika Mandanna also noted that the movie was one of her most successful films in Hindi cinema, albeit Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 (Rs 812.14 crore) remains her greatest hit. Nawazuddin Siddiqui too found Thamma a great success, surpassing Kahaani and Mom. All in all, Thamma was a blockbuster with the audience, thanks to the stellar cast, a remarkable storyline, and big box office figures. The second week did see a slight decrease in pace, but still, the film is keeping the audience hooked.
