S.S. Rajamouli’s film Baahubali: The Epic, released in theaters on October 31st, once again excited audiences. Starring big stars like Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film is considered a comeback for Rajamouli. Audiences had high expectations for the film, and it earned a strong opening weekend. However, by Monday, the film’s earnings declined, a trend common even for big films these days. The film also features a new surprise at the end – a teaser for an animated film titled Baahubali: The Eternal War, reportedly with a budget of around Rs 120 crore.

Baahubali: The Epic box office collection day 5

According to the trade website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 1.35 crore in India on Monday, its fifth day, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 26.42 crore, by earning Rs 0.42 crore. The film grossed Rs 1.15 crore from its premiere screening on Thursday, ahead of its release. It earned Rs 9.65 crore on Friday, Rs 7.25 crore on Saturday, and Rs 6.3 crore on Sunday. This means the film earned a total of Rs 24.35 crore in India and Rs 39.75 crore worldwide in its first weekend. Although earnings dropped on Monday, it will be interesting to see if the film can sustain itself for the rest of the week.

Baahubali series box office collection

Regarding previous installments, Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) grossed Rs 650 crore worldwide upon its initial release, while Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) created history with a worldwide collection of Rs 1788.06 crore. Therefore, audience expectations for Baahubali: The Epic were also very high. Although the film didn’t have a big opening, it is receiving positive responses from audiences for its story, visuals, and music. Many fans say that the film marks a new chapter in the Baahubali universe, especially due to the animated sequel teaser shown in the climax.

Treatment occupancy: The film had a strong opening. On the first day, the Telugu version had a total occupancy of 63%, with night shows in Hyderabad being nearly 70% full. On the second day, the Telugu version had a 53.04% occupancy, the Tamil version had a nearly 40.43% occupancy, and the Hindi version had a mere 14.9% occupancy. On the third day, the average occupancy across all languages was 50.5%, indicating continued audience interest throughout the weekend. It remains to be seen whether Baahubali: The Epic can maintain its long-term box office presence.
