However, Harshvardhan Rane’s film got far fewer screens and shows as compared to Ayushmann Khurrana’s horror comedy Thamma. Despite this, it has performed phenomenally at the box office. The film has become the surprise hit of the year. Starring Sonam Bajwa and Harshvardhan Rane in the lead roles, the film has managed to captivate the audience with its plotline and strong performances. However, with the flood of new releases now, a decline in its earnings is being observed. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has done wonders at the box office so far. Expectations from this film were not very high, but it not only recovered its budget within the first week itself but also earned more than double, achieving the ‘hit’ tag. Compared to Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has earned a huge profit. However, now in its third week, the film’s earnings are also slowing down.
Talking about the film’s collections, after earning Rs. 55 crores in the first week, it collected Rs. 2.35 crores on the second Friday, Rs. 3.15 crores on the second Saturday, and Rs. 3.75 crores on the second Sunday. On the 14th day, it earned around Rs. 1.65 crores. Then, on the 15th day, thanks to discounted ticket prices, it saw a slight rise and collected Rs. 2.25 crores. After that, it earned Rs. 1.9 crores on the 16th day and Rs. 1.25 crores on the 17th day.
Now, according to Sacnilk’s early trend report, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat earned Rs. 75 lakhs on its 18th day of release, i.e., on the third Friday.
With this, the total earnings of ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ in 18 days have reached Rs. 72.15 crores.
Will Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat hit the 100 crore mark?
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has, for the first time, collected less than Rs. 1 crore on its 18th day. Its collection has now come down to lakhs. Despite that, made on a budget of Rs. 25 crores, the film has earned over Rs. 70 crores. It is now gradually moving toward the Rs. 100-crore mark. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat still has plenty of opportunity to hit the Rs. 100 crore mark. However, it remains to be seen whether it becomes a 100-crore film or not.
